Do you want to stare at naked, unconscious women without their knowledge or consent? If yes, being a medical student at Midwestern University is the right place for you.
I had breast surgery at Dr Semone Rochlin's private all-women clinic in Scottsdale, and the doctor brought male students from Midwestern into the operating room when I was naked and unconscious on the operating table without my knowledge or consent.
I complained to the Dean of Education and she basically said, "That sucks for you but we don't care and we're not going to do anything about it." She said they hire doctors to be preceptors and don't do any follow up to check on what students are doing in the offices, if patients are aware that students are onsite, or if patients are giving consent for students to be involved.
Arizona made it illegal in 2020 for students to do pelvic exams on unconscious patients without their consent. Did the students touch me during my exam? Who knows? Would the school care if students were illegally touching women without their consent? No they wouldn't because the dean said that anything that happens in the doctors office is not the schools responsibility. Basically they don't care if students are violating patient rights or even assaulting them when they're unconscious.
What was the "important" learning that occurred during my surgery? The male students were curious about the field of cosmetic surgery and wanted to watch.
My rights were violated and I will have trauma for the rest of my life related to medical care and surgery because a couple of guys were curious and my doctor wanted to get paid for letting strangers come into the operating room and stare at my breasts for 3 hours without my...
Read moreI had been going to Midwestern Dental for over 6 years. I am 60 years old and unfortunately needed a lot of work done. Root canals, bone regernation (3 times in different areas), implants, cleanings and more. Each visit the student and the instructor go over every tooth and logged in their computer the different challenges with each tooth. I have had an issue with enamel loss on my front teeth. I did not realize that the enamel continues to erode . They never once said that this was a priority. Recently I went to their clinic because I saw in a mirror that you could see through my teeth! They then informed me that this was beyond their expertise . I asked if they could put something behind them so they didnt break off and they said it could not be done because my jaw had shifted and there was no room. They said that I could pick up my records on my way out. (I didn't because I was in tears so they sent them certified mail the next day). Devastation doesn't even explain how I feel. Two weeks later my front tooth broke off. I went to a private practice dentist and he informed my that there was only two options. I needed to get dentures or there was a procedure where I can keep most of my teeth. It is called a "all on one" dental implant. Of course that was the option I prefered. Then he gave me the estimate and it runs between $15,000-$25,000. (I got a second opinion and researched prices and unless I go to Mexico that is the price). That wasn't even the worse part. When the jaw shifted it caused irreparable damage. I could not be more depressed. I trusted the students and it cost me...
Read moreIf I could give them -5 stars I would. I had to do a video appointment for my yearly wellness exam with Dr. Will. This was how the clinic was doing exams during Covid. I was ok with this, just needed prescription refills. Unfortunately, they would not bill me for my wellness exam instead they put it under different billing so my insurance company would not cover it and it was going to cost me $90. They kept saying because it was a video exam, they couldn't bill for my yearly exam, but then they never told me any of this, when I did agree with a video exam. That was for a 10-minute video phone call to refill my yearly prescriptions. How can they do this? I've spoke numerous times to billing, this was back in January. Went to Supervisors and Dr. Will, but they would not change the way they bill. Maybe other parts of the clinic are okay, please stay away from family practice. I have been going there for awhile, but they are just in it for the money. Even if you have insurance don't go!
Your reply is automated. Look at the very few responses. All about the same wording😟 I have tried to resolve this issue since January. I mentioned this, and I've spoke confidentially to the Billing department. According to billing I was told they spoke with Supervisors, and they would not bill me for my yearly wellness exam. I think some previous reviewer said the couldn't speak with a person, well Midwestern's reply...
