Where do I begin? I been coming in here despite their negative reviews on how their service has been. After being a loyal customer I’m highly disappointed. Came in with my family because I talked so highly about how great the service has been and the food and when I arrived with my family. We went for dinner it’s obvious they were busy but we were cut off by another family. The family had shoved me to the side telling me to get out the way and was seated before we were mind you we were their before they arrived standing for about 20 minutes. So I notified two waiters and they completely blew me off. Then I told the owner who was serving and she ignored me as well. So I was very disappointed after waiting about 45 in total we were seated. The service was trash. We were ignored other people were served before us. My family and I were waiting patiently for our food. Don’t get me wrong the food was okay. But we were waiting on waters to be refilled the waiters near by kept ignoring us basically if you weren’t assigned to them at the table they didn’t care. So finally upon being served dessert. We didn’t get to see our waitress. So another twenty minutes passed by and there was no check. Fast forward I went to go check out didn’t leave a tip because of how we were ignored. When I walked back to the table my family was disappointed that we were ignored. So get this since I didn’t tip because of the lousy service they took out the tip themselves. Charged me an extra 11$ what a joke. Never coming back to this place again. I mean I’m not one to write a negative review but really disappointed. Would rather go to el Rico pollo in San Bernardino better quality in food and...
Read moreIm glad most of the reviewers got this one right. One reviewer of a different restaurant down the street said, save your moneu and skip this restaurant and go down the street to Mamita Peruvian instead, so i took the advised. Glad I did.
Mamita Peruvian Restaurant has a unique service, i may be wrong, but i observed all waiters service all tables/customers in an attempt to assure all customers were good with their food or attentive should you the customer need anything such as drinks etc. I wasn't sure on some things on the menu including the famous alcohilic Pisco drink or the ice cream, but the waiters would answer each question with patience. The waiter even recommended a new dessert just in, Pisco Sour Cheesecake (DELICIOUS highly recommended)!
This place has Great ambience, Great Service, and of course, Great Food!
We tried the Pisco Sour drink, Pisco Sour ice cream and Pisco Sour Cheesecake. Chica morada. Chicharrón de pescado (fresh and tender), Saltado de Mariscos y Mojarra Frita. Their green sauce is subtle with enough spiciness to satisfied your taste.
I do think you're gonna be satisfied no matter what you order. No complaints on food or service. Yes, I really like Peruvian food, and this is one place worth...
Read moreI've been to a few Peruvian restaurants and full disclosure, Mario's is still my favorite. Having said that I try and not compare every Peruvian restaurant to Mario's but it's hard being that their food is so good. SO, I always order the Pescado Macho at all Peruvian restaurants and I did the same here. Mamita's Pescado Macho is very different from all others that I've had in that the sauce is soupy. It's not a soup, but the sauce is very watery and more soupy. My favorite part of the dish was the fried fish. Dare I say, the fried fish was even better than Mario's? But the rest of the dish was just ok. Overall, I would not order this dish again. I would order just the fried fish though. We also ordered the shrimp and chicken fried rice and the noodles with beef and both were good. Not great, but good. Now the green sauce, Aji verde sauce. I liked this one, but it was a bit more watery than Mario's and not as spicy. Still good though. Peruvian food without the sauce just wouldn't be the same. For me, the sauce made my meal more enjoyable. Overall, I would come back here if I was craving Peruvian food and couldn't make it to Mario's. However, if there was another Peruvian place in the area, I would...
