I am extremely disappointed by the treatment my son received at Fresco Ristorante on November 11, (Veterans Day) 2025. He had placed an online order and arrived to pick it up, only to be told by the employees that his order was an “error” due to a private event taking place. Despite showing proof of his confirmed online order and payment, the staff responded with visible frustration and dismissive attitudes.
A female employee eventually called for the manager, who came out visibly irritated. Rather than addressing the issue with professionalism or empathy, the manager used exaggerated hand gestures while speaking, clearly attempting to express disapproval and establish dominance. His tone and demeanor were unnecessarily hostile and confrontational.
When my son calmly explained that he had already paid for his order, the manager was reluctant to issue a refund from their establishment, insisting instead that my son should “contact your bank.” When my son pointed out that this was unreasonable and that the restaurant should handle the refund directly, the manager became even more agitated and argumentative — in front of guests attending the private event. Eventually, he begrudgingly handed my son $20 in cash and walked away. Moments later, the same female employee returned and rudely said, “Why are you still here? You got your money.”
This behavior was highly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering that the issue arose entirely from the restaurant’s own lack of communication. It was embarrassing and disheartening to witness such disregard for basic courtesy and accountability.
It makes me question whether my son was treated this way because he is a young man (and other reasons), or if this is how the establishment typically treats customers they feel shouldn’t be there. Either way, it reflects very poorly on their management and customer service culture.
I urge anyone considering dining at Fresco Ristorante to pay close attention to how they treat their patrons — regardless of age, gender, background, or appearance. Respect and professionalism should be standard in any restaurant, yet this experience suggests otherwise.
While I would like to think this was an isolated incident, the demeanor and maturity of the staff involved lead me to believe this type of behavior may be routine and tolerated within the establishment.
