Came here for lunch while waiting for my car at America's Tires, and it was cool inside so no complaints there. Almost all the booths were taken, so I was confident the food would be good.
I ordered ice water and a tostada mixta, which the menu said cost 20 dollars. I know paying 20 for one food item is alot, but if you know, you know. Well, to my dismay, it was quite flavorless. I bit into a shrimp and my teeth felt like it was chewing sand. The shrimp was not deveined.
Look, I understand everyone has a different way of doing things... Some restaurants clean them, some cultures eat whole shrimps shell on and all, but for me, I find it really gross and the texture just killed any flavor/enjoyment I would have gotten out if it. On top of the poop thing, it was also kind of a small portion for 20 dollars. There's a BOMB mariscos place in highland park, across the street from Food4Less, that has the best mixta! (If you wanted to compare)
Anywho, the young waitress, who was on her phone when not attending to guests, was pretty nice about it. She made sure to point out that "that's how we make it", but offered to quickly replace it with a different ceviche, but with no shrimp this time. I kinda suspect that she just gave me more from the same batch, took the shrimps out, and called it a day, then still charged me for the full mixta price.
I walked my butt back to America's Tires feeling ripped off. Won't be willing to...
Read moreIt’s a beautiful saturday afternoon so my sister and I were searching for a food mariscos spot to have a couple beers and enjoy some mariscos. We came across this place and decided to go in. We get there and it was a nice ambiance. We ordered drinks which were fire and some ostiones preparados were really good. So after we decided to get a pulpo and camarón tostada and it all went down hill from there. The server brought the food and the octopus was rancid. It smelled like a foot the smell was overwhelming and the taste indescribably disgusting. We called the server and told her, and to our surprise she seemed upset. I am more than sure she was able to smell the rancid smell coming from the plate. So we gave it another shot and asked her to bring camarón cocido tostada. She took forever to come back. The tostada was definitely not the best so after we asked for the check she still charges us for the rotten octopus and was upset that we questioned it. The only two servers do not look happy and take it out on their customers. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK BEWARE BEFIRE YOH EGT FOOD POISONING...
Read moreFirst of all I'm not from the area but wanted to try a new place for dinner. Ordered loaded oysters and they tasted like they've gone bad. Then my son wanted asada tacos and the waitress said that they didn't have any asada. So he ordered something else. Then my husband ordered a trio of fajitas and they said that they didn't have any meat at all.🤔 WHAT KIND OF RESTAURANT DOESN'T HAVE NO MEAT ON HAND WHEN THEIR MENU SAYS THEY DO. That was not the only thing. The waitress was very rude and didn't get any order right, didn't bring any drinks until asked to please bring them for the second time. My toddler didn't get a high chair until my husband went looking for one. It was a horrible experience and I will never eat there again. If I have the money to pay for food that's on the menu then they should have on hand the ingredients that are in their menu. I like leaving reviews of other people to see before they go try a new place so I'm glad to have had the chance to leave...
