I don't write many reviews, but I always review them before trying a restaurant for the first time. I came to Nino's for pizza based on the excellent reviews. I was so disappointed I felt compelled to write this review First the bottled beer I had was not cold. I can't say it was warm, but it was definitely well below the temperature that beer is usually served at in a restaurant. We had a combo pizza, the crust was soft/saggy and too chewy and the topping were bland We ordered 4 items, pizza, chicken salad, bottled beer and water. When the bill came there was only 1 amount (base amt) on the bill. It did not show how much we paid for individual items, such as the beer and other items. The prices for the beer were also not on the menu They added a fee for using a credit card (non cash adj), I don't see it disclosed any place I have NEVER see this done in a restaurant before Our biggest complaint was the quality/taste of the pizza Just for comparison, if you have ever been to Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock for pizza, I would rate them a 4 and this place a 2 I do not recommend that you go to Nino's Pizza...
Read moreI ordered a pizza with sliced actual Italian sausage and asked to be charged any premium involved no problem. Pizza sausage is typically flavorless spongey particles made of non meat. Service person said it couldn't be done although an Italian sausage displayed prominently on the menu. I offered to pay any premium involved with my special order again. After receiving payment his demeanor did a 180° and adding there'd be a long wait with only one small table of customers nearby.
The pizza I was handed by the cook rather than the counter person ended up having those flavorless spongey particles of non meat instead of sliced Italian sausage. The counter person insisted it was sausage, raised his voice loudly in anger at my call without offering a solution saying that's their sausage pizza and hung up the phone.
Successful food and customer service isn't collecting money from customers then under performing and expecting them to return. Customers have options. The counter person here lacks simple business acumen and was also very difficult...
Read moreA bit of a hole in the wall, Ninos Pizza was a nice surprise. The pizza was good as was the chicken Parmesan. Quiet and unassuming. The place was virtually empty, never a good sign, on a Saturday night. But I have no idea why. The food was good and the atmosphere was fine. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Just a coup,e of blemishes...the beer choice was limited to bottled. My wife and I both decided to experiment with the Russian 9 Extra Lager. It was good. The other was the fresh basil on the garden salad. My daughter loved it. I was not a fan. But the salad was BIG and everything was fresh and the dressing was good. So, if you are in the Glendale Extended Stay America and you are looking for a good basic place to eat without the hubbub of other places in mainstream Glendale, this could be the...
