Monta Factory — Restaurant in Glendale

This is Monta’s second location; their original is located in Pasadena. I am so glad they are able to expand towards Glendale because If you are familiar with the location then you know this city is culturally and ethnically diverse with those of Armenian, Iranian and Lebanese decent! With that said their motto is “Better than your grandmas- She’ll agree!” Manti or pronounced as Monta is a Middle Eastern, European dish which consists of seasoned beef in small squares of dough, pinched at the ends, lined in a tray, baked till crisp finally topped off in a tomato and garlic yogurt sauce. I should’ve also ordered the their other special the Su Beoreg, a cheese dish or casserole depends on who you’re asking. But I think this would have paired well with the Monta. I just had lunch but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try something new. I called in advance and the order was ready in 10 mins, I asked for the sauces to be on the side because I wanted to try each ingredient separately prior to adding the sauces to the dish. The Monta was absolutely delightful, crispy on the out side and very flavorful inside. The garlic yogurt sauce was good unfortunately, the tomato sauce was lacked flavor. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to taste like that but it needed some seasoning salt. I personally enjoyed the dish with the sauces on the side, when I added to the Monta it made the dish soggy (But I’m sure that’s the way its originally eaten) nonetheless, I would love to come back and try the Beoreg and the...

Horrible customer service, rude employees. I called at 6:15 pm to find out what time they close and if they have “su boreq” the answer was yes and they close at 8:00 pm, I said I’ll be there within an hour. The employee said by the time I go there they might not have it anymore. I offered to pay with cc and go get it. He said I cannot do that. Then he transferred my call a rude woman who was yelling at me asking to leave her alone because her dough was getting dry. 🙄 Since I needed to get the products, I had to ask a friend to quickly go get them for me as I was told they might get sold out. In total my purchase was nearly 200.00 dollars as I had to by mante trays as well. Was visiting a friend out of state and needed all that to take with me. I’m gonna try to find the owner of the business and convey my feedback to them. I’m going to report to bbb and wherever needed . The prices are pretty high. We were driving around shopping and got hungry, so we stopped in to Monta Factory. I was completely unfamiliar with the food, but the aromas were fantastic. We decided to play it safe and got the chicken sandwiches plus a couple of the cheese khinkali. While we were waiting for the food, several large orders went out catering style. So, although we were the only patrons dining in, it was clear the restaurant does a good catering business.

Our food arrived in a few minutes, and it all looked great. The chicken sandwich had a generous piece of baked chicken. There were pickled veggies, roasted peppers, a great garlic sauce, all in a perfectly toasted chibatta bun. All together, it amounted to a wonderful sandwich. It was delicious and filling. A great combination of flavors.

I had never had a khinkali before, so didn’t know what to expect. It was a very cheesy, lightly fried dumpling. Very good!
