I’ve been to this place several times and every time before this current visit, it has been 5stars. But I am disappointed with my latest experience. It all started with the book keeper not writing our reservation down. We made a reservation 2 weeks beforehand online and received a confirmation email the same day. We also paid the reservation fee plus gratuity. We then received a call the next day, confirming our reservation; with who I thought was the owner-a woman. We made our deposit online of $20 and the reservation fee charged us a 18% gratuity fee of $3.60. I explained that we paid the reservation + gratuity to the woman who called to confirm our reservation. She assured me I should not have had to pay a gratuity. She told me to show them when we come in on our reservation date. When we arrived on our reservation date and told them the name for my reservation, they claimed they didn’t have us on the list. Then I pulled up my email to show them. The head chef then came out from the kitchen to show me I was indeed on the list; but that I never spoke with her to confirm our reservation. I then explained to her thoroughly the conversation I had with someone(who was her) the very next day I placed my reservation. I proceeded to show her the confirmation of the phone call which had her number. She didn’t seem to want to believe me. She then told me they didn’t have me on the list because I didn’t pay the deposit until recently. I then pulled up my receipt of the deposit that I paid the same day of making the reservation. I had also reminded her of our conversation about the gratuity with the reservation fee. I was visibly upset at this point and I tried to remain respectful although I was upset. I was very frustrated that she wanted to argue with me in front of other customers. The customer service on her end could have been a lot better. I was going to ask for our money back and leave but I had invited two friends who had never been there before. The service the boys/servers provide is always exceptional. However, I don’t plan on retuning just because of the debacle we had initially at the front. Not to mention our paying experience. At the end, the cashier told us she could NOT give us the $23.60 off. She could only get us $20 off. So basically we got stiffed about $4. They should have at least offered to give me the cash back but they offered no solution. They told me sorry. I didn’t make a big deal about it, but that was the cherry on top of my whole experience. The tip was affected because of it, although my tip was still good, 15%. As I mentioned above the service was amazing and always is, but the few negative experiences today is enough to lose my business. I hope they never decide to argue with another future customer. Especially in front of other customers. It was embarrassing on my end. It truly is a great business but I won’t be back. I would still recommend this place to others as I do think it’s...

Disaster! Made reservation and paid $20 reservation fee in March for my wife’s birthday in May (wife LOVES high tea!). Reservation was confirmed for wrong month and wrong time. After multiple phone calls finally got the reservation sorted out. Whew! Showed up five minutes prior to our 1:00 pm reservation time and were told we needed to wait outside (in the heat!) while they got ready for us. They eventually let us into the building at 1:15. They jammed us into a corner table even though we could see from the seating chart that was being referred to had us sitting elsewhere. We took the table; it was set, menus were placed, etc., and by this time we just wanted to get on with it. The table was broken with a severe wobble; we jammed the table against the wall, folded and inserted a napkin under one leg, and I shoved my knee under the corner to steady it enough for our use. Tearoom was quite loud and staff were running about willy nilly and, in our opinion, accomplishing very little. My wife and I were warm (hot!) from being forced to wait outside but there was no water to be had. We selected our chosen afternoon tea selections from the provided menus (quick and easy as these selections matched the ones posted on the web page that we reviewed previously). We waited and waited and finally at 1:30 a young man stopped by our table to take our order. We showed him our tea selections from the menu and then he said no, they were not providing the selections on the provided menus but something else. We asked what they were offering instead and neither my wife nor I could stomach a variety of the items. We asked why the menu on the web page and the menu offered on the table were incorrect and we were told we should have known there was a special menu that day?!? We asked how we were to know about a special menu if we weren’t told about it, it wasn’t posted on the web page, and the menus they handed us were incorrect as well. All we received in reply was a shrug of the shoulders. By this time we were done; we spent the next ten minutes trying to get our $20 reservation fee refunded so we could leave; apparently the first three employees we talked with were unable to make such a monumental decision. Finally a lady brusquely flipped us a $20 bill and we left. Wife’s birthday celebration was a dud. We will...

We came here for Mother’s Day and our experience here was very disappointing to say the least. We made reservation two months prior for Mother’s Day. We arrived and when we got there we were told we did not have a reservation an older gentleman came over and wanted to seat us outside when our reservation was inside also nobody was apologizing or empathetic about the situation nor did it seem like they really even cared. We came here one time previously and the service was great so that’s why we made the reservation for Mother’s Day we thought we would have the same experience but when we came this time it was horrible to say the least . We got sat next to the restroom at a tiny table and the chocolate covered strawberries and the Mamosa‘s that my sister had ordered for us was supposed to be at the table and the table was supposed to be set and it wasn’t so looking at my sister‘s face and the disappointment that she had I went up to the front to speak to the manager but the manager wasn’t up there so I had spoke to two other servers who were very understanding and they did apologize which was nice. I went back to the table to sit down with my sister and the manager I believe her name is Monica. She came over to our table immediately being very aggressive and rude she asked if there was a problem??? I said well we had a reservation and I explained everything to her no apologies no nothing she was very aggressive and rude and she asked me again “so do we have a problem or are you good”? Very unprofessional not sure why she’s a manager there it’s very very upsetting on Mother’s Day of all days you would think that they would be more caring towards their customers and they weren’t . I told her that we were just going to leave nothing at that point could be fixed or amended other than just leaving before the interaction got even worse needless to say we will never be going back and they ruined a special day for us no think twice before you make a reservation here or having to deal with the manager. We will be going to another Tea house...

The Pink Door Tea House in Glendale was an absolute delight for our 4 year old! It was perfect for a Mommy and Me outing, with a high tea option for kids, and multiple options for adults. We dined on little sandwiches, sweet treats, and of course tea (or pink lemonade for kids). There’s also a breakfast and lunch menu! Located at 7153 N 59th Ave, Glendale, 85301 and open 8:30am-3pm Tuesday-Sunday (closed on Mondays). Reservations are not required but recommended especially during busy hours. @thepinkdoorteahouse

Ahhhh what a lovely tea house. From the decor to the food and the staff- everything was amazing! Today is my daughter’s 19th birthday & due to my undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer- most of our options are limited. My daughter has a traumatic brain injury & birthdays are extra special since her very first birthday was spent fresh out of a coma. So we decided to do an afternoon tea at The Pink Door. This was my first time and won’t be my last! First off- servers were amazing. Just a friendly group of young men. I told them no strawberries for me because of an allergy & they were so accommodating. The chef came out and was so sweet. She sent out a cheese scone for me (delish!) & strawberry items were on separate plates. Amazing. I mentioned today was my daughter’s birthday & they made sure her experience was extra special singing happy birthday. They were all very attentive without being overly so and they were also very busy. The food was delish. I had been dreaming of little cucumber sandwiches & egg salad since I looked at their menu & they did not disappoint at all. My appetite isn’t huge due to chemo but every morsel satisfied me. I left stuffed. My daughter isn’t a big eater and she ate most of her food from her Princess Tea. Honestly- it was all so satisfying. You get plenty of sandwiches, pastries, scones and fruit to keep you full. My sister got the Pink Door tea, I got the fresh peach black & my daughter got the chocolate. Everybody loved theirs. I bought a bag of the peach tea to enjoy the rest of the week. We ended with a happy birthday song & dessert. And smiles. They include the gratuity of 18% in the check & we tipped extra because they were just such a good team! Learned about the Alice & Wonderland Tea in November. Oh we’ll be there! For sure. We’ll be back!

If you want a budget friendly high tea experience this place is for you! First I got the fruit and yogurt parfait with my pot of tea. The parfait tasted like the ones I used to get from McDonald's without the granola. And the tea was fine except they only had milk and no cream which I think it weird for being a tea house. The cherry scone wasn't good. I don't like cherries. The lemon curd and cream were tasty. The salad was just cheap spinach with a tomato topped with tuna salad which was a strange concept. They also gave me ranch with it and didn't give me other dressing options if there were any. So I didn't have it on my salad since I don't really eat ranch. The tuna salad had sweet pickles in it which I really dislike. So it did not make my sandwich eating experience desirable in any way. It was an assortment of different salad sandwiches and a cucumber sandwich which wasn't bad. Basically all of the sweets tasted to be about the quality from a Fry's bakery. The brownie didn't really taste like chocolate. The strawberry just has some pink cream on it. The vanilla cake tastes very artificial like a rubber glove. The cannoli wasn't good. But I don't like cannolis to begin with. Overall I will not be back. I give 1 star for the service and 1 star for the decor. But this place didn't match with my palette or expectations.
