You are missing out if you don’t give this place a try. All the reviews I read were spot on. I was told to seat myself when I walked in. I ordered the prime rib dinner as I was hungry. It had been a while since I had eaten a classic prime rib and the photos I had seen in the reviews made me want one. My house salad came out right away to help satiate my hunger. There was fresh lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and croutons. There was a small bowl of dressing on the side. As I was eating the salad, a gentleman came out to check on tables. I’m assuming he’s the owner as I had read reviews that the owner comes around often. He came to my table and asked me if everything was OK. I told him I was in good shape. He grabbed some plates from a nearby table and took them away. It wasn’t long before the dinner plate came out. I had ordered the loaded baked potato to go along with the prime rib and vegetable of the day. The plate came with a small bowl of au jus. The prime rib was just as I had hoped for. It was cooked to order and had a nice salty seasoning around the edges. As other reviews have stated, this was a good prime rib. The baked potato looked just like the others in the review photos. It was loaded with butter, sour cream, cheese, and green onions. It was cooked well - soft and creamy. Yes, I ate it all. Then there was the vegetable of the day, the green beans. How good could they be? They were green beans. Well, I was once again impressed. There were little bits of ham and onions as part of the green beans. They were delicious. I ate most of those. My only regret was that I had no room for dessert. There were 4 or 5 people at a table near me and all of them ordered dessert. I heard someone say bread pudding and I almost changed my mind. I’ve passed by this place so many times and wondered if it was any good. I am thankful I took the time to read the reviews and stop in to see for myself. I also hope to return for...
Read moreWent in there recently, my girlfriend ordered a steak and I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. It took over a half-hour to get out food, even though there were only three other tables of customers, each with 2 people. The steak was okay, the sides alright for salads, but my spaghetti was completely inedible, the noodles were overcooked, the sauce had no spice at all and the meatballs weren't even fit for dogfood. The check for the two meals was almost $70 including my one beer and she had water. The place is obviously surviving off of it's past reputation and the elderly clientele who probably go there mostly out of habit. In answer to the owners response to my review... I was very fair in what I said, but to tell you in more specific details... I would not have fed that spaghetti to anyone. The noodles were overcooked and the sauce tasted like some very bland tomato sauce from a can. The salads were okay although the Parmesan on the Caesar was dry. The bread pudding that we ordered was actually quite good 👍. But the worst of it was definitely the meatballs, which actually I had not tried yet when the lady came back to check on us. They were absolutely hideous, I honestly feel they would be to gross for even my dogs to eat. The whole plate of food was barely edible, the noodles were so overdone they seemed like they had just been left soaking in the water for a very long time. When we waited so long, I would have thought you could have made them fresh, perhaps had some water on the stove already at or near boiling. As far as the elderly clientele goes, I call it like I see it, that is who eats there, we were the only ones there that wasn't...
Read moreThis was one of the worst places we have ever eaten at. A family of five cost $120 and not one meal was edible. After 20 minutes of waiting, (only 2 other sets of people there) and two waitresses, we finally got a menu. Way overpriced. Way. I had steak, mashed potatoes, green beans. Steak was blah and doused with peppercorn, but it was cooked medium rare which is how I wanted it. Mashed potatoes were instant, thick and not mixed...you could see the flakes. The steak was not edible, neither was the potatoes or green beans (again smothered in peppercorn). For $20 for an 8 oz sirloin steak, nah. Applebees has a 12 oz sirloin steak for $15. My 21 yr old son had the lobster and steak. His steak was not prepared medium as requested and the lobster was tough. He could not eat the potatoes, but he did enjoy the very spicy green beans. His meal was not edible. My 18 yr old daughter ordered a cheeseburger. She loves spicy food, especially curry. She said her cheeseburger (only 3 small bites taken) was so spicy that it made her want to puke. Her meal was not edible. My 16 yr old ordered the chicken strip meal with potatoes and green beans. The advertised very large chicken strips were baby strips. He also enjoyed the green beans. The mashed potatoes were not edible. My 14 yr old daughter ordered the Philly Cheese sandwich. She was able to eat about three bites before she ran to the bathroom to vomit. Her meal was not edible. We could have went to Osaka for less than $120, Applebee's about $65, McDonald's @ $30. Anywhere would have been better than Mamadou's. Our family eats out regularly and this was one of the worst experiences we...
