I've been a loyal patron of Woody's Wood-Fired Pizza in Golden, Colorado, for over two decades, and the experience has consistently been one of warmth, quality, and genuine community spirit. Situated in the heart of this charming town, Woody's has carved out a reputation as not just a place to eat, but a local institution where every slice tells a story of tradition and taste.
Ambiance: The moment you step into Woody's, you're greeted by an atmosphere that's both lively and comforting. The decor, a blend of rustic charm with a touch of modern flair, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Golden. The walls are adorned with memorabilia, and the sound of laughter and the clinking of glasses fill the air, making it an ideal spot for both families and friends.
Cuisine: Woody's is renowned for its all-you-can-eat wood-fired pizza buffet, a concept that they've mastered over the years. The pizzas here are a testament to the art of wood-fired cooking, offering a delightful balance of crispy, charred crusts with an array of toppings that cater to all palates.
Pizza: Each pizza from Woody's oven boasts a robust flavor with a crust that's both chewy and crisp. Favorites like the Honey BBQ Pizza showcase an inventive use of local flavors, combining sweetness with a hint of spice. The variety ensures that there's something for everyone, whether you're into the classic Margherita or more adventurous options like the "Fuhgeddaboutit" with its mix of Italian meats and cheeses. The wings, voted among the best in Golden, are perfectly seasoned and available in a variety of sauces, from the mild to the daringly hot. Quality and Consistency: Over the 20+ years I've been visiting, the quality has never wavered. The freshness of ingredients and the consistency of flavor are what keep me coming back. The salad bar, accompanying the pizza, is stocked with fresh vegetables, ensuring a balanced meal.
Service: The staff at Woody's have always been a highlight of the experience. Friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable, they add a personal touch to your dining experience. Whether it's explaining the nuances of their gluten-free options or sharing a laugh, the service here feels like you're among friends.

Read moreBest pizza in Colorado! Every single birthday everyone in my family always chooses Woodys for dinner, and for good reason! I honestly have not found a pizza joint that comes even close to this place. Everything about it is just perfect. From the tables to the popcorn machine, every little detail is just perfection. To start, the food here is just amazing. The pizza buffet is the best valued thing in probably all of America, because it's literally all-you-can-eat pizza, salad, and soup for $16.99. For comparison, a small pizza at a franchise brand is ~$20 (which is about 6 slices.) versus Woodys where you can get infinite pizza and much more for 3/4 of the price of a small pizza! The salad bar is also great, nothing spectacular but still very good nonetheless. They also have a bar near the front of the restaurant where you can still order pizza at. And that's not even it. They have burgers, sandwiches, wings, and even things like rueben turkey and pulled pork. (I cannot rate those as I haven't tried them because the pizza is too good to pass on.) But anyway, the point is that if you're picky or want to switch things up every once in a while this place is perfect for you. The service is also just as good. Every server and employee here always has a contagious smile on their face, you can tell they love the job. Not to mention how kind they are! Always tending to literally any need that you request, being extremely funny and cool to be around, and having amazing communication skills especially with kids! I honestly appreciate all of the waiters and waitresses so much as they are just so good at their job. Even the people eating there are kind! It's sort of a little community I guess. The atmosphere at this place is yet again, amazing. There are TVs everywhere broadcasting every sporting event and other things, making it the perfect place for a group hangout or just for unwinding. The decorations are just as cool and interesting, such as the skis on the wall, the bikes separating booths, and the various band, sport, and award posters hanging on the walls. The tables are always clean and nice, and the chairs/booth seats are so comfortable. All in all, it's a great looking and feeling place to relax and enjoy the food. My only downsides are the parking and wait time. I get that it's an extremely busy area, but you either have to pay $10 for parking nearby, or just hope you catch someone leaving. I don't really think that this is a fixable problem, so it's hard to really blame them as it's not entirely their fault. And it's pretty much the same with wait time as it's a very busy place. In conclusion, there is so much more that could be said about this place, it's literally amazing. And I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! (Also props to you if you actually read...
Read moreMy husband and I brought our 4 kids here after my sister highly recommended the food. We came from 6.5hrs away. When we first got seated, everything seemed fine until one of my kids got up to tell me she wanted something else. Our waitress gave us a look, maybe it was our 1yr old son making noise but she seemed very cold towards us after. After 20 mins of eating she came to our table and asked "are you about done?" Her tone was off putting, I looked at my husband confused because we have never been asked that before. She saw my look of confusion and said "well your kids look like they're done, they haven't been eating for a while" and I said "oh well yeah just about i suppose". I had 2 slices of pizza and a bowl of soup... after that I felt so rushed. Literally after that she drops off our $72.03 check. My 1 year old son was charged $3.99 for a piece of pizza crust my 6 year old wouldn't eat(she doesn't like crust). He literally was just chewing on it, he maybe ate half. If he would of ate anymore, it would of been an additional $3.99 a slice. Ridiculous. Then when my 6yr old came to tell me she needed to use the bathroom, I got up and our waitress was hovering behind my chair and I didn't know and when I got up, she was walking and I cut her off unknowingly, she scoffed and said something under her breath. I said "excuse me?" And she continued to walk. My kids are 6, 3,3 and 1. We are out in an unfamiliar place, their behavior wasn't the best but it wasn't so bad that we were needing to be rushed out and treated poorly. I have never felt so unwelcome and cold attitudes from a place ever. The looks and remarks our waitress gave us throughout the night were so upsetting. To top it off, we were sat at a table with fold down sides and my kids water slid off because it slopped down and the waitress groaned load even though I cleaned it up. After that and her groaning, I started to cry. Another waitress comforted me but it was such an unwelcoming experience. The man seating tables also had an attitude. my kids pizza had broke from the crust onto the floor, so she started to cry. Some popcorn was on the floor too but I cleaned everything up, so I'm not sure why they had such poor attitudes. KIDS DESERVE TO EXIST IN PUBLIC AND SO DO...
