Switching off the engine of the rental car, my hands reach for the door handle, eyes draw towards the well light Goleta Sushi House. The restaurant appears nearly full from the outside, it’s later in the evening on a Saturday night. Upon walking in, my partner and I are greeted politely by a determined woman, who is eager to place us in comfort in after our travels. We sit, our hearts open, ready to enjoy what’s been reviewed as a wonderful home for sushi. Our expectations were met and exceeded. The food was marvelous, sushi hand rolled to order, fish as fresh as the ocean air, our palates pleased beyond recognition. What really accentuated our experience though, was the hospitality, the connection with the incredible owner of this establishment. If you ever are blessed with the opportunity to meet this woman, you will immediately recognize her dedication to her family, her love of people, and the care for her work. My wife and I were on our way of Goleta after my 9 year olds softball camp. My wife was craving Sushi, but didn't want a fancy sit down spot. I saw good ratings on this place and gave it a shot. We arrived in time for lunch as they have both lunch and dinner hours and we're glad we did.

We had a good conversation with the owner and she was a good hostess as well. The place isn't too big more a like a dive spot. The food was very flavorful and the portion sizes were very generous; at least what we ordered. Pricing was also very reasonable. I have paid a lot more for less and without the flavor of the food or hospitality of the staff.

I would say if you want casual from start to finish, this place shouldn't disappoint. Also, gave it a 4 stars because an item we ordered was wrong... received beef teriyaki instead of chicken teriyaki; still delicious. We just didn't have the heart to say anything, but also because the beef teriyaki was great...

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY FRAUDULENTLY ADDED MONEY TO MY TRANSACTION AFTER I LEFT! Let me start of by saying the food was amazing! The waitress was also very nice, however, severely lacked in the customer service. The older woman (owner) was very short and rude as well. We had a tab of about $105, and I picked up the tab on my card. At the register, I added 3 strawberry ramune, which came out to an additional $11, no big deal. This brings the total bill to about $116. I did not leave a tip on the card, as I did not feel as if a tip was earned. Our drinks were barely refilled, we had to wait an exorbitant amount of time to get silverware, refills, food, etc. As of today, my square cash card alerted me that my account was negative, and it is due to Goleta Sushi House adding on their own tip! They added an additional $10 to the transaction that I did...
