How to start this. I went with my family this evening excited to try out this new local restaurant. All was well parking was easy. The decor was cheap but putting on the air of being an upperscale nashvillian restaurant. The sever was very attentive and kind. Quick to seat and take our orders. As we went around the table ordering the sever informed up that our grandmother's chicken order would take about 30 mins to prepare. No worries im not one to throw a fit over having to wait for a quality meal. Some of our plates came out one by one starting with my mothers sea bass. This is when the first issue arises. As she went to eat some of the vegetables and potatoes they were cold. She asked the server if the vegetables were intended to be served cold and thats when the server stated this wasn't the case and would take it back to the chef reheat. Meanwhile 15 mins passes and everyone including my grandmother had been served there meal accept my father who was still waiting to be served. The server comes back to inform us that the chef didn't prepare his meal in error after 45 mins of waiting. At this point we were all put off by this restaurant experience but did not complain. That's when we get to my steak. I had ordered the peppercorn fillet. The meal has a $40 dollar price tag without any mention of how large the steak is... come to find out its around 4-6oz. I was disappointed but the meal looked nice. I dug into the zucchini (ice cold as well but im hungry so I don't complain) as well as the mash potatoes which were serviceable at best. As I cut into the steak I see that it has a dark brown center (I ordered medium rare) i show the server who AGREED that the steak was well done and will take it back to the chef. This is where the story takes a turn, I see a man out of the corner of my eye aggressively walking up to the table he states "are you the one who said your steak was overcooked?" I said yes sir it was fully expecting an apology for our experience. The then proceeds to tell me "no it wasn't im the chef and owner and that steak isn't well done." I immediately tell him that yes in fact it was and to go grab the steak from the back so we can take a look. He rolls his eyes and goes to get the plate. When he returns he come up to the table and keeps the plate at an arms distance away and proceeds to tell me that the steak isnt well done. I grabbed the plate from his hand in anger to point out that it was clearly overdone. From there he tells me that he wants me out of his restaurant. I get up and leave with a few nasty remarks hurled his way. (I realize im in the wrong for this) but my father then confronts the supposed chef/owner. Apparently there were a few nasty remarks between my father and the chef/owner. That's when he then THREATENS our family that we will be tracked by the goodlettsville police department because he has "friends in the force." My father and rest of the family were then told to leave as well or the police would come. All because your head chef has a temper and a lack of skill at running a restaurant. I sincerely hope your business fails little man. Photo of the supposed Head chef included

Clean lines and welcoming appearance with a nice ambiance of non intrusive jazz music in the background. The piano to the right of the entry gives it an air of sophisticated elegance. It is hoped that it's not just for decoration. There is a fully stocked bar towards the rear of the restaurant, and it is very refreshing not to have a sports TV anywhere in sight. If the portrayal is supposed to up market as their prices would suggest, the staff need to all be dressed accordingly. The hostess who greeted us was attire nicely on black, and the manager also dressed appropriately for her role in an outfit befitting it. However, our server, Jermaine, wore a green T- shirt of the day with jeans and what looked like a dirty T-towel round his waist. He was very courteous and attentive to our needs without being overbearing. There was another person who could have been staff or a friend hovering/socializing with the staff in jeans with rips in them, a set of keys hooked to them, and a "faded" dishrag of a top. Spoiled the whole setting and feel of what was being portrayed. There is a place for eating outside with overhead fans for a more casual setting. Being on the main road, this area would benefit from some greenery to shield out some of the traffic noise and construction currently in progress. The food choices were good. However, the pairing and presentation of some lacked imagination. Portion sizes for the price and location of where they are situated are small and require review if they are going to survive or attract the local patron. My friends chose the steak, which was served with fries and fancy lettuce, but had limited choices of dressing. Whilst the steak was very tender cooked well, the portion sizes was mediocre for the price. There was no choice of how they would like their steak cooked. I chose the salmon, which was good with a lovely crisp skin, and the seasoning a little heavy-handed, too salty. However, again, the portion sizes were small for price paid. The accompanying side of quinoa, corn, and the finely diced vegetables mixed in with it was delicious, perfectly cooked, and well flavoured. The selection of desserts was less than impressive and somewhat predictive, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and panacotta. The chocolate cake was supposed to be ganache with butter cream topping, the cake itself not fudge like in any way, and there was no sign of ganache anywhere. It was nice, but it was just cake with chocolate sprinkles on top of a cream pad. It was very ordinary and required elevating. The American coffee was good. Overall, a pleasant couple of hours spent with friends eating good food that was priced too high for the portion sizes. The atmosphere was delightful, and the staff seemed to be well versed and happy in their workplace. I would dine here again if their prices were to reflect the area they are located and the portion sizes served.

My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Casper’s Bistro in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and I couldn’t be more pleased to share our experience. As long-time residents of this area, we’ve always tried to support locally owned business. It’s great to have upscale dining options here. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by live music—a charming touch that set the tone for the evening. The restaurant is located next to City Hall, and upon entry, a grand piano greets you to the left. The interior is open and airy, with large windows offering pleasant views of the surroundings. Though there’s also a lovely veranda for outdoor dining, we chose to sit indoors due to the summer heat. While no host was immediately available to greet us at the door, one of the servers quickly noticed us and seated us promptly and courteously. The service throughout the evening was warm and attentive. The beverage selection is impressive, with a thoughtful array of both domestic and imported wines and a full-service bar. We each enjoyed cocktails that were well-crafted and refreshing. For dinner, I started with a wedge salad that I can easily recommend—it was crisp, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My wife and I shared the Chilean sea bass, which was prepared with cherry heirloom tomatoes, white wine, and fennel. The flavor was delicate and well-balanced, and the fish was perfectly cooked. While it was served in a large porcelain bowl—I personally would’ve preferred a standard plate—the quality and taste were outstanding. We also enjoyed a selection of sides, with the brown butter carrots and broccolini standing out as absolute must-tries. Casper’s Bistro is a significant step forward for the dining scene in Goodlettsville. It's the kind of place I hope will thrive—not only for its culinary merit but also for the convenience it offers local families and professionals. It’s the sort of establishment where I can envision hosting business lunches, client dinners, and family celebrations in the future. I encourage everyone in the area to support this new gem. Let’s help ensure that Casper’s Bistro becomes a lasting part of our local community.

1st Pricey. Food was overall not enjoyable. Server could have been attentive and observant. I took my husband for his birthday in hopes of surprising him and staying local since he hates going to Nashville. Ambiance is very nice and the pianist is what makes it great and I can see potential. Parking is kind of inconvenient but we made it work. We sat down and no one came to our table for a few minutes, fine It was newer and maybe things don’t go as smoothly. I ordered a ginger beer and my husband ordered a beer which he received right away- I waited about 10 min for mine.. again, it was his birthday (which I wrote in The reservation )I would have liked to cheers him but I told him to go ahead and it wasn’t a big deal. Tried not to let it ruin my night. Next I ordered my toddler the butter pasta which he did not like. Literally he tried it and pushed the bowl away. My husband and I tried it - lacked flavor. Tasted like microwaved noodle water. No butter. The owner stopped by our table which was nice- noticed toddler hadn’t ate his food, asked if he liked it and we said “actually no” he asked if he tried the chicken nuggets or something (can’t remember if it were tenders) and we said no and instead of offering another option he went about his way- odd but okay. We ordered the shrimp in garlic, Brussel sprouts as appetizers and the garlic and shrimp I could not eat. Shrimp was too rubbery and could not taste garlic, best part was the bread. Brussels sprouts weren’t even there it was more like crisp leaves tossed in a bowl. I got the pasta entree and added chicken. We waited an hour for our actual food and our kids started to lose it.. I think the server forgot to put in our order quite honestly. Again I was determined to make this a special night! My husband ordered the steak potatoes and veggies. He enjoyed his meal which I was happy about and ate everything off the plate! He said the steak lacked flavor could have used salt but it was cooked the right temperature (medium). He really enjoyed his garlic potatoes and mentioned the veggies were cooked perfectly. I however, after seeing pictures of the pasta online, was severely disappointed. It was dried out. No actual sauce was present. And the chicken was a pesto chicken thrown on top. Pesto on a dried out pasta?? It lacked flavor and gourmet that I was expecting and gave tomato can vibe. Not to mention my food was cold. The chicken was not cooked I could see the pink, no it wasn’t because of the red pasta… remember it was a pesto chicken (green) and the pasta was dried out. My noodles had zero flavor and dried out. The pesto chicken was mistakenly undercooked and did not pair well with the dish. I waited for the server to ask if I liked the food, seeing as how I was not eating and pushed the plate to the side, however she never checked on us or asked if everything was okay, I wanted to ordered something else, like the steak instead, but as I stated my husband ate everything and was finished eating and the kids were done and over it At that point. I asked for the bill and asked for my meal to be taken off. The manager came over and asked if I wanted something else, but since it took food so long and my husband was already done eating and I didn’t want to ruin his birthday I just said no thank you. She noticed my sons food not eaten as well but didn’t bother to remove that. I wasn’t expecting them to after all I go out to eat with intention of enjoying my outing and spending money. But considering I did not enjoy anything I would think they would try to recover the evening and offer but she did give us two complimentary dried out cookies! Maybe it was an off night?? Maybe server was overwhelmed although there were several open tables around us. There wasn’t any mention of his birthday or dessert so I ended up leaving spending over 135 and not eating . -_- I went to chefs market after so I could eat something and don’t think I’ll be back. Highly recommend more flavors, basic salt in dishes, and recommend not pairing a pesto chicken on a...
