Mama’s Kitchen — Restaurant in Goodlettsville

I'll never go back, and the other 6 people who go with me will not be back either. Staff is aways rude, I try to be extra nice, but today it didn't work. I've never gone in there alone, plenty of witnesses that I over compensate my pleasantries, I was overcharged by $7 once, I questioned the bill and was given a refund of the $7. Well today they were very busy and tables were mostly dirty, I sat at an unclean table with no expectations of when the server (who always has an attitude) will clean it off. Today she was more rude than usual. She told me if someone wants the table I have to move, at this point it's still dirty. I say that's fine, my 11 mo grandchild was sleeping and too heavy to hold inline to get served food. No one needed the table, i moved the dirty dishes to one end and it allowed enough room for us to use the table. The server never came to take the dishes, and cleaned tables all around us, she was being very spiteful. When I paid the owner asked how my meal was, I explain fine but the server (whom I always try get to cut up with) was purposely leaving the dirty dishes on the table. He proceeds to tell me its people like me who piss them off, and that I complained about my bill once for being over charged, I was shocked that an owner of an established would talk to their customer this way. I guess he thinks it's OK to overcharge people and it's not ok to question what I'm being charged for. Makes me wonder if this is what they do on a regular bases, and they got caught. We are from Louisville and we were just passing through. I like to look for local restaurants rather than eating at a chain restaurant or fast food. I found this place on a Google search and we decided to check it out. It was a great decision! The food was amazing! Good country home cooking! The staff was nice and welcoming! It was very busy and seemed like the spot everyone want to go to. We didn't have to wait long although they were so busy. Made a trip to try Mama's Kitchen in Goodlettsville and I was not disappointed. The set up is cafeteria style. You walk in, get your silverware, tray and food then you find a seat. As soon as you sit you are greeted by staff to take your drink order. The food is fresh and cooked in smaller batches as to not dry out and lightly seasoned. A meat and three plus fruit tea cost me a little over $13. Considering the recent inflation of food prices, I think this is more than reasonable.
