We went during the grand opening, and everything was great! I was super impressed with the fact that their chicken wasn't over-breaded like most hot chicken places are. It's the only reason I don't get it often, but their's is as close to my favorite (Bolton's) as I've ever found, and I could eat it on a regular basis! They also had a great happy hour deal of 2 leg quarters for $8.99. I also love that they made space for a couple of tables outside, which is very important to me. Definitely try them!
A couple of notes about the heat: I tried the hot, which was perfect for a quick meal before work. I often prefer hotter, but I also eat those more slowly, lol, and I needed to be done quickly today. My child tried the mild, which was a little hot for him, but he did love it.
The only Con I found was the sauce- they're not homemade. Was disappointed to see small packaged Hidden Valley Ranch, and they charge a $1 for extra sauces. That was the only downside. I'd pay the dollar for homemade sauce, but not these.
Update 07/23/25: I had only been eating their leg quarters so far, but I decided to try something new today for dinner. I had the catfish sandwiches, and they were so good! Catfish can very easily go wrong, so I was impressed. I also tried a whole chicken wing, and it was amazing, so I'll be ordering the wings next time! I don't generally like breaded wings, but it was a light, but flavorful coating on a big, juicy...

I was on my way to Bowling Green and decided that I wanted to try a Hot Chicken establishment that I hadn't been to before. The Goodlettesville location was just minutes from the highway and not a significant detour off my route. The location is based in a newer plaza, and the store itself is very new. The restaurant inside is very clean and bright, and the staff are very welcoming. On the day I visited this location, I was the first customer of the day. I ordered a Breast and Wing combo with a side of greens, and it only took a few minutes for them to make. Their quality control is great as the kitchen and manager felt my breast portions were smaller than usual and doubled up my meal at no extra cost.
The chicken was ordered mild and had some kick to it. The inside of the breast was tender and moist and full of flavour. I barely remember my greens, as I wolfed them between chicken portions. Overall, BJ Hot Chicken makes really good chicken, and if you are a fan of Fried or Hot Chicken, I would give the BJ Hot Chicken location in...
Read moreGreat addition to the neighborhood! We had seen the coming soon sign and were anxious to try it. We ordered the fried catfish sandwich with coleslaw and the hot chicken sandwich with baked beans. The catfish was actually two sandwiches with large pieces of catfish on both with lettuce, tomato and onion with a side of tartar sauce and their special sauce. It was excellent! Both pieces were cooked nice and golden. The chicken sandwich with a big breast that was larger than the big bun it was served on. Their sauce had great flavor and just the right after heat to add taste, but not over power the fried chicken. The beans and coleslaw were ok. The service was excellent. They were friendly and helpful since it was our first visit. Definitely a great place to go. Looking forward to our...
