⭐ Review for Waffle House – Goodyear, AZ (Unit #0481) 📍820 North Dysart Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338
My recent experience at this Waffle House location was extremely disappointing and deeply concerning. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that professionalism and customer service were lacking across the board.
Several staff members were huddled in a group at the counter, gossiping and chatting instead of working. There was visible cell phone use in front of customers, and no sense of urgency or attentiveness. Rather than staying focused on service, the staff appeared more interested in their personal conversations. It felt like no one wanted to be there, and it showed.
At one point, my father began choking on his dry food and urgently needed a glass of water. We asked a nearby waitress for help—she looked at us, then turned and walked away without saying a word. A second request was made, and finally, another staff member—who had her back turned to us—retrieved the water silently, placed it down, and walked off without a single word or follow-up. There was zero concern for a visibly distressed guest, which is completely unacceptable in any food service environment.
After our meal, I quietly left a note on the receipt with constructive criticism, hoping the team would take it to heart. Instead, the staff began loudly talking about me and my family in front of other diners, causing multiple guests to stare and gawk at us as if we had done something wrong. It was a humiliating and unprofessional way to respond to honest feedback.
This incident has been reported to the appropriate Waffle House representatives, and I am posting this review for the store manager and General Manager to see. Every team reports to someone, and at some point, someone must be held accountable. No family should be made to feel disrespected or unsafe while dining out
I know it’s not a five star restaurant I know you’re overworked and underpaid but you still are an employee and have a job to do you could’ve shown respect to me as I showed respect to you by writing you a note and not discussing this infront of other customers smh I come from the Mecca of waffle houses North Carolina + Georgia so imagine how low the bar fell in hell when I got to this...
Read moreHi my name is Adrian Almaraz from El Paso Texas where y’all don’t have a Waffle House location. I feel like the only way you can all make up for this incident is if y'all made a Waffle House location in El Paso Texas. It was my first time eating at a Waffle House at 820 N Dysart Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338 where I was coming from California. The servers were so nice but when I got my hashbrown bowl with chicken I found a hair in it I didn’t want to make a big deal about it so I told her and they re did my bowl with no problem. I suggest the employee should wear hair nets because I don’t know if I’m the first this happen to but this was ridiculous for my first time being at a Waffle House. This includes also the fact there was a fly in the building that constantly wanted to eating my peanut butter chocolate chip waffles. I noticed as well that the bottom of the grill where they keep the little pans where the grill is at was a bit dirty with little pieces of hash brown. At the end I felt obligated to tip the lady that served me because she was so nice but I didn’t even get a receipt because I had to do a different transaction to tip her which I didn’t mind but I Just felt like I couldn’t complain even though I wanted to make and exception for paying for the hash-brown blow since it had a hair but like I said I didn’t want to make a big deal about it. I also didn’t like that new steak plate you all advertised in the menu looks nothing or compares for the size shown in the picture of the menu but I still ate it because it look good and I was hungry. overall the service was good even though I couldn’t keep my receipt I don’t know if they did that because they didn’t want me to-scan the QR code to do this survey. OVERALL the food was delicious and minor details need to be changed. PLEASE MAKE A WAFFLE HOUSE IN EL PASO TEXAS THE FOOD IS SO GOOD BETTER THAN IHOP EVERYONE I TALKED THEIR IN THE WAFFLE HOUSE SAID THEY THOUGHT THEIR WAS SOME IN TEXAS AND I told them”. Not in my part of Texas...
Read moreMy spouse and I went to this location for breakfast. We had a 20-minute wait before being seated, which was fine. Now when it came time for us to get seated we got set at a short counter. As soon as we sat down we barely had any time to go over the menu and figure out what we wanted to do as far as what we wanted to order to eat. My spouse ask the host to give us a few minutes to go over the menu and discuss what we may want. Well, about 3 minutes later, the server returns. Again we said we needed a few more minutes. Before we know it as we were discussing our possible decision the server appears 3 minutes later again. At this point we feel we are being rushed to order. So this now turns my spouse's mood off, as well as feeling rushed to eat and very uncomfortable. Not to mention, there was a person who also worked behind the counter whom was watching my spouse and I eat and then asked if we were okay again, as if we were taking too long to eat our meal. This whole experience has put a nasty taste in my spouse's mouth and in which has turned my day hectic and upside down now. No one, should be getting rushed when they are paying for their food and to sit there in peace to enjoy it, no matter how busy you are! We didn't witness anyone else in this establishment getting the same treatment as my spouse and I received today. This is highly unacceptable and poor customer service. I've tried to call the store to get a manager and you can't even get a person on the phone because their new phone service does not allow you to reach a live person. I usually go to the one on 83rd avenue and mcdowell have been going to that location for over 30 years and never experienced anything at that location, like I have today. I've tried calling multiple stores to get a manager involved in this situation with the new phone services that they have in place you cannot reach a live person so I am left to leave...
