I decided around 8:30PM on 08/13 that I wanted a DQ Butterfinger Blizzard for my birthday dinner as my husband was working late and it's a random Wednesday. I ordered the chicken fingers, fries, and a Blizzard. While attempting to order through the app, it gave an estimated wait time of 44 minutes for pickup. Prior to placing my order, I drove clear from the other side of North Charleston, to Goose Creek, to confirm this as I knew the restaurant was closing at 10 and I didn't want to be rude with my order, even though I would've picked up in plenty of time. Upon my arrival, the parking lot is very poorly lit. I parked, walked inside (around 9PM), and I asked the young lady who was sweeping if she thought that it would actually be 44 minutes. She was pleasant and kind. She advised that she wasn't sure, but immediately turned around to ask. I was then advised it would be about 10~ minutes. Cool! No problem! I proceeded with my order through the app, of which, I ordered (and paid) extra for additional Butterfinger. My Blizzard was done first and I noticed there wasn't much Butterfinger in the cup. I asked the young lady who originally helped me if she knew whether the person who made my Blizzard saw my note about extra. She turned around, asked, and was INSTANTLY greeted with a TERRIBLE attitude by an employee by the name of Emmanuel. Emmanuel then snatched a cup out of the holder, stared me down, huffed, rolled his eyes, and began to VERY AGGRESSIVELY put extra Butterfinger in a small cup. The young woman apologized for Emmanuel's behavior and advised that he is "a pretty grumpy guy" and "always like this" while trying to laugh it off out of embarrassment of her coworker's behavior. When Emmanuel was done, he slammed the cup on the counter, again stared me down, gave me an incredibly disgusting look and attitude when I thanked him. All of this should be on camera and is 100% UNACCEPTABLE. Emmanuel should not be in a position of customer service if he is that unhappy with his job. Emmanuel should also not be allowed in the view of customers if he feels as though essentially "daring someone to say something" is a tolerated behavior. While Emmanuel attempted to belittle me by speaking under his breath and then tried to intimidate me with his body language and behavior, he was unsuccessful. Should Emmanuel have felt so passionately about the issue, he was free to discuss it with me, the customer, a woman. I am highly disappointed in Emmanuel's behavior and he should NEVER put his fellow coworkers in a position of being so uncomfortable that they feel they should apologize for his actions. Once I received my food, I was on my way. The chicken was OKAY (at best - it tasted as though it had been microwaved) and the fries were awful. The whole meal, in the sum of nearly $20, went straight in the trash when I pulled into my driveway. The ONLY good part about this visit was the young lady sweeping. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but she was a doll! Very kind, wished me a happy birthday, tried to defuse the negative situation that Emmanuel had created, and never skipped a beat in the meantime of being a model employee. Shout out to that sweet soul! Emmanuel on the other hand? I strongly suggest discussing this with his fellow coworkers (who do NOT deserve his attitude or behavior), checking the cameras for confirmation of this exchange, and considering some type of discipline for his behavior. I did not discuss it with a manager as I did not immediately see one available and it was now nearing 9:30PM, so I knew everyone was ready to head out for the evening. This was a total waste of my time, gas, effort, birthday meal, AND money! Emmanuel did a fantastic job of ruining that 30 or so minutes of my birthday this evening. The food then ruined the remainder of it. I will continue to visit the location on Trolley Road for much better service where customers are respected and employees do not try to (unsuccessfully)...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my kids to the DQ (HWY 52 Goose Creek, SC location) to pick up a quick meal to go. It was between 3:30-4 oāclock pm on a weekday. I can only say I wish I had gotten the managerās name working that day because she had the place running most excellently! When I walked in, the employees were ALL laughing, smiling and truly enjoying their work environment! The employees even allowed the young child of a customer in front of me go behind the counter and help make her own ice cream cone, which definitely made that childās day! Their service was efficient, timely, polite and on point. I even took the time to ask one of the employees if it was always as enjoyable as it seemed to be that day. (Truth be known Iāve never taken the time to make such an inquiry but I was so impressed I just had to know.) She stated that for the most part, yes it was, and the manager working that day really goes the extra mile to make sure itās great for the employees and therefore extends to the customers via awesome customer service. They even helped me take my order out to my vehicle when they realized I would otherwise have to make two trips. They all went above and beyond and had smiling faces while doing so. I promise I donāt personally know anyone working there. I was just so impressed and amazed that I had to share a review. I realize now that I have become so accustomed to poor service and bad attitudes as a norm by people in customer service positions, that experiencing what truly great customer service looks like took me off guard and honestly made my day!!! Iāve been to other DQās, never felt I had anything awesome like this. (Not bad just not anything to write about) I definitely do recommend this DQ! Whoever that manager is, she deserves to be promoted and should teach a class on great...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey are so incredibly slow, and lack of sense of accountability for their slow service. Making excuses for why they're so slow, rather than improving themselves. I wouldn't recommend this dairy Queen to ANYONE. My job is right down the street, so I thought I would be able to drive down to this Dairy Queen, and be right back in time for work at 7:30. I arrived at 7:08 and was in that line until 7:44! I don't work in fast food anymore, but when I did work in fast food, when service was that slow, it was no one's fault but the crew. Slow staff and poor management. Now suppose I get a write up for being late to work, when I'm literally down the street from my job. Thinking I'll have enough time between 7:08, and 7:30, to get a blizzard and a sandwhich, and drive right back before 7:30! Mind you! My GPS says it displaces only four minutes away. It's unacceptable! I have a YouTube channel, I think I just found the new topic for my video tomorrow. Now I arrive late to work, not only am I late to work, but I don't even have what I asked for, because if I have to wait that long for it, I'm not paying you for poor service and your excuses. Get a staff more enthusiastic about meeting time quota, and a manager, because it was the so-called general manager making excuses, with better leadership skills. I used to work at a Burger King, and our times were never that bad. When we got busy, and the car is kept coming non-stop, we still managed to make our times. So let's not make excuses, and let's start...
