I gave this spot a chance due to hearing a lot of great things—we spent $70 on 3 entrees and two apps takeout and were pretty underwhelmed. I’m sure this is a great spot to eat in, but the takeout experience leaves a lot to be desired. The ordering system (Toast) allows you to choose a pick up time, but the restaurant just makes it as soon as possible anyways. My partner arrived more than five minutes early to get our food and it was already sitting there ready. We don’t live very far away but when I opened it up it was clear it had been sitting there for quite a while longer than 5 minutes. The prices are not exactly cheap so for them to just arbitrarily make your order when you order it instead of waiting to time for your pick up time is very frustrating.
The serving sizes also leave a lot to be desired. I think one of my entrées had four pieces of chicken total because they were cut into large pieces instead of small ones—it doesn’t seem like a very good value for the high prices. The scallion pancakes were borderline inedible as they arrived cold and with cracker like consistency that even my air fryer couldn’t remedy. I probably won’t be giving the spot another try, there are other options that have better portion sizes/prices and better execution. Reading their takeout reviews, it seems a lot of folks have had these issues over the past couple months, probably should’ve read them closer before going. Clearly they haven’t taken the feedback from...
Read moreExcited to have a very local Thai restaurant in Gorham, and I hope it’s here to stay for the long run, hence why I am leaving this review, and hope they take their customers feedback into consideration. The flavors were great and the lady at the register was very friendly. We have great restaurants in our town and I definitely think there is competition. With that being said my only complaint with our meal was the portion size. For the cost and size of the meal, I felt it was very over priced. As soon as I opened my meal I was worried it was only broth, about half of the container contained a small amount of veggies (barely) and a couple pieces chicken (3-4) It was hard to tell anything was in there. I feel like I can get great food that is just as good, for cheaper and a lot better quality and quantity for the cost. Rice container was not filled all the way, quickly running out, and leaving me with a lot broth and no accompanying item. My husband meal had the same issue as well, for almost a $20 meal, it very small (considering other local restaurants sell the same for a lot less $ and better portion size and quality of chicken) the chicken looked more like small little chicken bites scraps, as pictured, we did steal two small pieces of chicken before snapping a photo. The broccoli was very under cooked as well. Hopefully they are just ironing out...
Read moreBeen to many Thai restaurants over years, unfortunately Sweet Thai doesn't rank high on than list. Well the dinner room is very comfy and clean which made my hopes high, however the food was less than desirable at least on this visit. The crispy wonton was like a rubber ball wrapped in a crispy pastry. Singapore Noodles lacked curry, not much vegetables compared to other Thai restaurants, and 2/3 of the chicken has so rubbery and hard I need to use my leatherman. If the sharp knike can't cut it I sure the saw will. The other third was totally fine which makes me to believe the cook need to defrost some chicken and instead over cooked it in the microwave. Likely the same thing happen to the crispy wonton. It really was not a great meal. Maybe the cook had a off day, might try one more time. ...
