Having moved to Grand County only a couple of months ago, I have been both anxious and excited to try new places to dine. Pizza is delicious no matter how you slice it ( see what I just did there?), but an authentic pizza place is hard to find. Looking at Lina's from the outside, talking to the locals, and reading the reviews, I decided this might be the place!
I ordered a few things, hoping for leftovers to enjoy the next day. The meatballs were delicious. The sauce they came in had excellent seasoning, freshness, and a really nice depth of flavor. The meatballs were tender and married with the sauce so well. The homemade bread that comes with the order was heavenly and the perfect accompaniment for soaking up the rich, delicious sauce!
The small garden salad was easily enough for two people; the lettuce was crisp and fresh - as were the veggies! I opted for homemade ranch dressing so that I might have a little extra for my pizza, and it was a solid choice.
I ordered a small pepperoni, jalapeno, and extra cheese pizza. I saw that they diced their jalapeno, which is exactly how I like the jalapeno on my pizza to be so that I get a little spice in every bite. (My one complaint might be that there were not enough jalapenos on the pizza, but that's easily remedied. Next time, I'll just ask for double!) The crust was thin, but not too thin. Crispy, crunchy, really good. The pizza was excellent!
Someone told me they think they don't put enough sauce on their pizza, but I would tend to disagree. I am a less "saucy" person, at least when it comes to pizza, haha, so I appreciated the sauce not overwhelming the pizza and the balance of all of the flavors together.
I did indeed have enough leftover for another meal today, so... I could complain about the price, but I got two full meals out of the deal, so I don't have much to complain about.
The person who took my order and cashed me out were the same person, and they were attentive, friendly, and helpful. While I didn't stay in to eat my pizza, the place is small and cozy, and I bet fills up fast during the summer.
I will definitely be back, and I thank Lina's for two...
Read moreMy wife is from New York and I'm from Boston. This is mediocre at best pizza. The crust is so hard it cuts the roof of mouth. From the pictures you can clearly see how over done (burnt) the crust is. The quality of ingredients is good, they had good flavor. However when you order fresh mozzarella cheese and you are replacing shredded cheese it should cover the majority of the pizza. Fresh Mozzarella is white and even coming out of the oven it's still white. Not really sure how they can claim fresh Mozzarella. Presentation is awful. There's no care to what it looks like and they just threw the Basil on. For 25.00 for a large I expect more. Even Domino's loads up cheese more than this and it's not even close on price. $1.00 for a tiny cup of ranch is a money grab, it should be included and they have a tip jar to boot.
They should get a pizza from Elevation Pizza in Fraser to see and taste how it...
Read moreWe had a group of about 15 and ordered 6 pies, a couple bread sticks and wings. We were told the order would take about 1.5 hours. We showed up to pick up the order after that time and it was not ready and had to wait an additional 30ish minutes for it to be ready. The establishment was completely empty with the exception of a table or two. After we got the order we asked if we could have a few plates for everyone and were told that they would be $1 each. Absolutely not.. We just paid ~$30 per pie and were not going to pay an additional premium for paper plates. We stopped at a nearby grocery store to get plates and paper towels. After getting to our destination about 10 min out of town we sat down to eat. The pizzas were leathery and tough to eat. The bread sticks were ok. I'd suggested passing on this place. For the price, not worth the return. I've had better from your average...
