My husband and I were married this past weekend at The Lilley Mansion in Spring Lake, MI. Justin and the team at Grand Finale desserts were recommended to us by the good folks at Lilley, and I am beyond happy that we went with Grand Finale for our wedding weekend! Justin got to know us a little and prepared a tasting box for us about a month ahead of time. What we ended up going with was 3 different cakes (for only 36 people!): Lemon vanilla, chocolate salted caramel, and 24k Carrot Cake. I couldn't believe it when I saw all of my guests having a piece of each flavor, and raving about all 3! The true testament to the quality and deliciousness of these desserts is that there was not a single piece of cake left over after the wedding. They couldn't plate it fast enough for our guests! I ordered a Devil's food cake, with Kahlua filling, and Orange flavored frosting for my 30th birthday. I was anticipating this cake for weeks!

I was asked over the phone if I would add a tip when I made the order. I said I would wait and leave a cash tip at pickup, (my reasoning was so that I could see the quality and tip based on that, but I didn't say that to them just that I would leave cash at pickup). They said ok.

Now for design I said "I don't really have a plan so I'm going to let you guys get creative and make me something pretty but, I want it to be purple because that is my favorite color". They said ok. I had looked at pics online and was sure they would do something awesome.

Now I picked up the cake and immediately noticed it was visually not what I asked for but still left a $15 cash tip. Hoping the flavor would be great. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, including accommodating our dietary restrictions.
