I love the Kirby BUT I was very disappointed tonight. The bathrooms were so disgusting. I have always been a fan, had events at Kirby, my friends band plays there, etc but this was unacceptable. I was in the bathroom and they were so dirty in the stall but THEN I get to the sinks and they were so BEYOND gross! Absolutely disgusting! It looked like 10 people vomited in every sink for several months. Not kidding. I was drying my hands and a lady walked out and commented about the nasty sinks, as well. Says it looks like someone puked. My friend went down and couldn't believe it. Then we all questioned what the kitchen looked like??? As we had kids eating there. Our sons went to the bathroom, came back and said those were dirty too. I saw a manger come by and just decided to mention it. SO KINDLY! They sent a hostess to clean it! Well.... Later I needed to use the restroom and went back... HA- still so nasty. I was really sad to see nothing changed. We left and I decided to go back in and say something... It was that bad. The event planner I saw ( who I thought was a manager at first) I decided to talk to her about it. At first she was okay but then made excuses over and over, honestly became quite rude and didn't seem to give a crap. I told her several times that I loved Kirby, worked in the restaurant and service industry and wanted to just make sure they were aware, truly no bad intentions. I honestly left not sure I even want to go back. We are so disgusted, not only the bathrooms but how they could care less. When I mentioned the kitchen she claimed OOOOH that's our main priority. I'm sorry but YOUR whole restaurant should be a priority. There was no concern, I'm sorry... NOTHING. I liked Kirby but do BETTER. Not sure you would pass health code inspections!
I wish I had the BEFORE pics but these were AFTER they " CLEANED" them. I wouldn't have even made this review or posted pics IF they actually showed they cared! I tried to bring it to their attention in a kind way BUT THIS is UNACCEPTABLE!
I'd also love to know who cleans your restaurant! If you need a good cleaning service....let me know! Wow! For th record this was all 4 sinks AFTER they cleaned! Not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYuck. I have been there a few times to eat, and a couple times to hear music. I must admit, their virgin bloody Marys are wonderful and I love them. I'll got back to hear music and have a bloody Mary now and again, but I've had my last meal there.
Tonight I took my daughter there for a birthday meal - you get a free prime rib dinner with the purchase of another meal on your birthday. It's a 14 oz prime rib steak, and it's pretty tasty. What I dislike is that they automatically take 20% gratuity out of both dinners, which is fine, because I give 20% if the service is great. But it wasn't. Furthermore, when I got my bill, they overcharged me on my plate by $5. The bill came to just over $31 so I put $32 cash in the little payment booklet, but I questioned someone when I went up to pay. The waiter came back with my bill, saying that the dish is supposed to be $20.95, not $15.95, and there was an error on the menu--something I didn't believe, because the other, similar, fish plates were around the same price. The whole scene was confusing and the waiter was rushing. He recalculated my bill and told me the total price should be $26, not nearly $32 and he gave me $6 back, apologized and walked away. But, he got an extra dollar for a tip - a dollar I surely wouldn't have given him. O.k. so it was only a buck, but the whole thing was beginning to stink. My daughter even had a feeling he might have done it deliberately, figuring that I wasn't going to make a big deal over a dollar, when he was clearly rushed and showing some irritation. I won't go back.
The food was o.k. The prime rib was pretty good, and so were the mashed potatoes, but they were very salty. My tuna was so-so and my rice tasted like instant rice. No flavor. Their menu is ala carte so don't expect a full dinner - you'll have to pay a small fortune if you want a baked potato and salad added to your meat selection. I would have rather eaten at Panera, to be quite honest. I think their food is better and it's a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot the best experience. Long rant coming! Walked into restaurant that only had 1 group of people at a table & 2 customers outside. Noticed about 6 staff mulling about. (Not sure what positions they held) no one at the door, we wandered about, ran into a person and asked if we could sit anywhere, they stated we needed to see the hostess, at which point we asked them to point them out. They couldn't and then said we could sit anywhere. We sat across from the other table, thinking this would get us served. Nope. That server went to that table 2-3 times refusing to look our way or walk by our table. š we sat there for about 10-15 minutes, which seemed like an eternity. Just as we were to leave, we were approached. We placed our order. It came relatively quick. Food was ok, but for a lettuce wrap the chicken was cut in large pieces and the vegetables where in large chunks, the pea pods were whole. Which made eating it very clunky. I had to cut everything up so that it could fit easily in the lettuce leaves. The checks came and we noticed there was a "3% wage & benefit recovery fee" charge on each of our checks. When we asked our server what that was all about, they stated it was just extra $ for the owner, that none of the staff gets any of this $. š Apparently the staff is bitter and under appreciated. But then again the service was lousy, so.......there is that.
I am annoyed that the cost of eating out has gone up significantly since covid and seeing this fee on the check was just infuriating. If this restaurant needs to recoup $ to pay their employees, then they need to up their prices and have new menus created, not hide fees and surprise the customers when they get the bill!!
Keep this in mind when considering...
