Great first time visit. I had not been to New China City, but had heard from a dear friend that she only orders Chinese food from New China City. As I trust her judgement, I decided to try it myself. I ordered a Lunch Special - Chicken Black Bean (Fermented Black Bean) and an order of Chicken Chow Mei Fun (not a lunch special). I was pleased with how fresh (as many of the reviews here also noted) and not over-salted the food was. The fermented black bean was not strong - it's cooked in a way that would be good for someone looking to be introduced to this new flavor. I personally would have preferred it to be a little stronger, as I grew up eating dishes made with fermented black bean, but it was not a deal breaker for me at all. The rice was delicious and the flavor reminded me of the rice my parents would make at their restaurant when I was a child. For the Chicken Chow Mei Fun, it was enjoyable and not at all oily! I don't know that I'm giving it a fair chance/review, because my mind kept going back to my childhood and eating fermented black bean dishes. :) So I had a couple of bites and will come back to the noodles at a later time today. It has been sitting for a couple of hours and still looks delicious, so I expect I will still enjoy it for dinner. I look forward to the noodles later today and I hope to be back again and try the Shrimp in lobster sauce!

I was nervous to try this place because of all the recent negative reviews. I decided to try it anyways. The fried rice was absolutely flavorless. The only veggie in the fried rice was onion. Yuck. Soy sauce helped a little, but fried rice should have a flavor, not bland. I ordered the beef n broccoli. It was pretty good. Plenty of broccoli and beef, and for $7.60, you can't beat that price! Other places now charge $13 for the same amount of food. The crab rangoon was good. The egg roll was great! The fortune cookie, i feel jipped. There was no tacky saying in it or anything! Small dining room but i was able to enjoy my lunch. Overall, a good experience. Follow me for more honest and candid reviews across Michigan!

I must have beat the rush. I dined in food was ready in 10 minutes. Shrimp egg rolls delicious nice portion of shrimp crispy exterior and the cabbage still had some chew. When it comes to egg foo young I'm a little bit of a snob it's my absolute favorite. I got the house special egg foo young shrimp and pork. gravy very good and nothing too salty which is a big plus. The flavor of the food shined. I got an order of Szechuan beef to go. looks good can't wait lunch for tomorrow

( For my regular group of 4 ) We usually order ahead and it's ready to go in 20 minutes! Though they say 30 minutes every time.😁 If we just stop in and order, most of the time it will take about 10 minutes longer. Then we check out the next few shops. Get flowers, cards and great stuff (from China) to fill every nook of your home so you feel like your Somebody! 🤭Sorry. Then, run into the Dollar Tree and pick up 2 huge, Real Cokes & 2 Monster drinks! etc. We're cheap that way! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Then book it back to get our food, that's all packed up with everything we need! 😁 Their Food is Hot, Fast, Somewhat dry in the sauce area on our meals the Last two times, But overloaded in veggies, meats & rice! It's packed like a puzzle! Don't tip the bag! Stuff may spill through the paper bag after a long time, my teenage daughter found out.🤦🏻‍♀️ 🇨🇳 One last thing. When anyone from here speaks to you, GET READY TO LISTEN! They speak a Fast version of Chinese English! But when the young man, who is usually at the window working, is there.... And He is so sweet and good looking! my daughter doesn't seem to...
