Panera Bread — Restaurant in Grand Haven

Ordered through drive thru. The girl couldn't understand a word I said, asked me to hang on, then had me repeat myself. I told her my order of a pick two with the chicken goddess melt, an advertised item on many banners around the building, and she didn't understand what I was asking for at first. Then she was confused I wanted a pick two. Found out later, when I did the math, she charged me separately for each item. All items were accounted for, went home. The CHICKEN goddess melt, didn't have chicken and didn't feel all that warm for being a melt. My daughter's Mac and cheese was globby and not very warm. I live four blocks from the restaurant, we did not have the food long enough to have it go cold that fast. A few hours past eating the meh food (because I was too tired and didn't want to waste), and getting no answer at the restaurant when I called the number on Google, I began to feel ill. I'm happy now that my daughter refused her food and took a pb&j instead, because I believe it will be a long night for me. This is not my first problem moment with this particular Panera. The Grand Haven location is hands down the worst Panera I’ve ever been to. I walked in and ordered my food on the electric menu, no big deal I prefer it that way. I wait for my food and she brings it up and I’m missing the soup in my bread bowl, no big deal it happens. When I go to inform her of the soup she was busy talking with her co-worker, I couldn’t get in a word. When I final do get a chance to tell her she says, “yeah.” Then takes it back and puts the soup in it while continuing her conversation with the other lady and just set it in front of me. Not a huge deal, I can brush off quite a bit and it’s 8pm I get it. Then when I finally get to sit down, on my way to the table the floor is just nasty, covered in food, wrappers, just plain dirty. But not a big deal, my table was clean so whatever. THEN as I’m eating my food I take a bite of my Mac and cheese and in my mouth a find a PIECE OF PLASTIC. And tbh that was the cherry on top for me and that’s the whole reason I decided to even leave a review. Also the lady that helped me was the team manager at 8pm...

I went through the drive through at the Grand Haven Panera, approx. 2:45 pm Sun. Aug. 4th. I ordered a 2 for, half sandwich and half salad. The receipt stated baguette for the side. I got home and no baguette. The sandwich was supposed to have bacon on it; no bacon. The 1/2 salad was VERY skimpy; the guy who took my order let me know before I ordered, that they did not have any hard boiled eggs. I said ok. The lettuce/greens were not fresh. The warm half sandwich was placed on top of the supposed salad container. Like I said, the lettuce was not fresh, nor was it chilled. I paid $14.08 for the sandwich/half-salad. Grand Haven Panera also asks if I would like to round off change for children. Sorry. I don’t know where the donations go. No other Paneras do this. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, $14.08 is enough to pay for a half salad and half sandwich. Going out to eat is a treat. I will be more selective next time I decide to go out for lunch.
