Planet Fitness — Local services in Grand Haven

Grew up here but no longer live here just visiting.

First appearance: overall this is one of the nicer looking planet fitnesses that I’ve seen around the U.S

Equipment: the equipments pretty standard for what you would expect at any other planet fitness.

Space: I went at 5pm aka peak time for any gym and seemed like they had plenty of room and machines to accommodate which is uncommon for planet fitness.

Staff: appear to be friendly, helpful, and involved.

Facilities: everything is clean with plenty of room.

Overall opinion: This specific planet fitness is personally the best looking to me. The other ones do have individual perks but you can utilize them all. Overall planet fitness is a hard bargain and a genius business that provide affordable gym memberships for people who typically don’t work out to the same extent as other gyms due to rules and environment, that’s great in the sense the equipment will look good and last a long. I’d highly recommend this gym to anyone starting due to the environment. Once you get comfortable I’d also highly recommend getting another membership with lunks (male/female) because of the better gym equipment and members in my opinion. Other gyms members will be pushing them selfs to levels causing involuntary “lunk” tendencies. They will also be willing to help you out. Even with me personally liking other gyms I will always maintain a membership with planet fitness for my light workouts and the convince of everything they have to offer. Keep in mind more traditional gyms will be louder and equipment will show more use typically. Still planet fitness is a great offer and this location specifically...

"No judgment zone", only means the staff will not be judged for not enforcing the rules and for their poor customer service. There were multiple pieces of equipment stacked with free weights and there were free weights strewn on the floor, with nobody currently using them. They have a special class area, with equipment, and a big sign listing the times the area is reserved. It was 10 minutes prior to the next listed reserved time. I needed to do one set of a pulley twist and bend exercise, requiring no additional equipment or set up. While I was doing it, a staff person kicked me out of there, saying she had to set up. I left the area and went to the front desk suggesting they change the posted times reserving that area, to reflect the preliminary "set up", and about the state of the free weights when I first came in. That staff became very defensive and told me "please do" when I mentioned canceling my membership.

I have been going to different gyms/health facilities my entire adult life, and Planet Fitness in Grand Haven, Michigan is by far the best. The facility is always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful. The machines are all in working order, clean and new. The shower area, bathrooms and locker rooms are always clean and stocked. With the coronavirus effecting all of us, Planet Fitness of Grand Haven has definitely done their part in providing a safe and clean facility to workout and exercise in. The staff is always walking around cleaning and making sure everyone is wearing their masks properly. We all need to do our own part in staying safe with everything going on in the world today. It is nice to know that Grand Haven Planet Fitness is doing their part to provide a clean, friendly and safe facility for all of us. Great...
