UPDATE: THESE SOBs DELETED MY REVIEW!!!

Very upset. Nurses working in the hospital wanted El Toro. I called in a bulk lunch order from us and among the items ordered were a lunch size and full size fajita's. The gentleman who took my order was very nice and even clarified that I wanted both fajitas. I said yes and he read back the order with both on it. Someone on the way into work stopped to get it for us. When it arrived there was a fajita missing and (we thought at the time) a queso. The lady I spoke to explained that it wasn't on the original ticket. I stated that there was no way I could know that as i called it in and it was read back to me. She got super rude and said they would remake the fajita, but would be "checking the video" to see if we got both quesos. One of the nurses found the queso. She said that they would still make the fajita.

Someone went to bring it in for the nurse who didn't get her meal. They made the person who made a special trip for the nurse person pay for the error that EL TORO made. That person said that the guy was nice, but the lady was still rude.

I'm angry that they were getting a large order from hospital workers that cannot leave, and (yes it was found) accuse us of lying to get free queso. Not only that but then make someone else pay for their screw up! Food is good but overpriced and due to the horrendous customer service from this lady, I will not go...

Food was decent. Food we ordered was accurate and overall good. Enchiladas were a touch cold and arrived much faster than I would have expected. Something tasted a bit off about the enchilada sauce, could have just been my taste buds though. My only major bone to pick was with the service, more the lack thereof. The server we had seemed apprehensive at best, which at first I chalked up to him having a bad day for some reason and we've all been there. He approached our table 4 times. 1-drink order 2-drop off drinks 3-food order 4-drop off food Not once while eating our meal were we offered drink refills or checked on, and they were not at all busy. I had to approach the server personally to ask for boxes and our checks after waiting for quite a long time and watching the servers sit and talk amongst each other. We will be going back a second time as anyone deserves two chances, but my expectations for El Toro will be much lower on the second visit, and I cant promise the opportunity...

If there was a rating for the food, this place wouldn't deserve a single star based on the poor taste and how all 4 of our meals were served luke warm. The sauce on my chimicanga looked like someone vomited on it. My husband refused to even try it (and he is not a picky eater)! I LOVE Mexican food and have been to numerous restaurants across the state (and out of state), so when me, my husband and 2 kids were in Grand Island for the State Fair, we were excited to try out a different Mexican restaurant (especially considering it's rave reviews). Unfortunately, it was the most disappointing and gross meal we've ever had! It was upsetting considering the high prices of almost every meal on the menu ($13-$15 on average)! The only good thing about this restaurant was the service. The staff were friendly and gave good service to our table (which we would expect considering there were only 3 other tables with customers in the restaurant while we were there). Don't waste your money...

Wasn’t really expecting to find good Mexican food in Grand Island, Nebraska, so El Toro was a surprise. It’s conveniently located and in a nice building. The chips were served warm and are thick, both a win to me. The salsa had good favor; more on the mild side of the spectrum. I ordered a burrito, and it was tasty. I’m uncertain about how I felt about the cheese sauce it was smothered in, but the burrito certainly didn’t lack for size. It was packed nicely with chicken, rice and beans. I was slightly disappointed it didn’t come with rice or beans on the side though. Overall, a good experience and I’d visit again if I find myself in Grand Island.

Service was good but the food was mediocre. The menu said seafood Chimichanga but the crab in it was actually imitation crab and a bit too much of it. Nothing wrong with using imitation crab but it would be nice if they listed it on the menu as imitation crab. It”s not crab it’s actually made from surimi, or white fish flesh that has been deboned and minced into a paste, which is then mixed with other ingredients including both natural and artificial flavors, starch, sugar, and sodium. Not crab.

Clean, spacious restaurant with a full bar and plenty of menu items. The bar is a bit small...only a half dozen seats or so but it offers a variety of tequilas and four or five Mexican draught beers. The food is excellent but a bit pricier than it's cousin across the way, CarlosO'Kellys. The house salsa is weak and watery...ask for the spicier picante salsa it has a nice flavor and color. The chips are thick and tasty. Try the Mad Bull tequila...the bottle alone is worth a look
