Stumbled upon this place by surprise and could not believe the delicious wonderland we have discovered. Based out of the back of a bike shop this is a very hip place to hang. Outside and inside seating are both very cool. The atmosphere is casual goblin pub. The coffee? Great. The pastries? Sourced from a local sour dough bakery. The food? Mind blowing. We have been back too many times to count and we have yet to find something we don’t enjoy. We are gluten free (by necessity for one and association to the necessity for the other) and this place kills it every time. #1 recommendation. The dirtnap sandwich on a gluten free hoagie. Bison, peppers, fresh spring onions and a horseradish cream sauce that has just the right amount of kick and the bun doesn’t even taste/look/feel gluten free. The breakfast burritos are on point especially with added tomatoes and avocado. This is the food men go to war for. Seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. Definitely getting everyone there own gift cards for Christmas so I can spread the delicious joy....
Read moreWell, after being quite disappointed from a few other local breakfast places, we were ready to throw in the towel, and on our way to our car we stumbled upon this "JEWEL" We saw the menu outside and thought "wow, these are very honest prices" (compared to everyone else in town)so let's check it out. We'll in a million years would i thought the food "match" and in this case overexcited the value of what is being served. For this reason you can tell the owner does this out of "Love", this is his labor of Love and not greed or profit. Take note "travelers and out of towners" if you are in Grand Junction, do yourself a favor: take the unbeaten path off main street downtown go one block south on 4th street and you'll find ROOTS. The best this entire valley has to offer. Local people: main street does need you, but if you want to experience real Loving food and what the Labor of Love is, veer off main and make your way to ROOTS....
Read moreStaff was helpful in explaining the menu and what vegan options they had. They recommend the breakfast burrito (because it's popular), they just didn't tell me that the vegan options cost more as subs (which is fine and I should have assumed, I guess). We showed up about an hour before they closed for the day. There wasn't a line but all the seating inside was taken and, while outside there was plenty of seating, all but two of the tables were in direct sun. We waited for one of the two tables with umbrellas to open up; our food was prompt.
The burrito was good for the price and decently filling. I'd eat here again because they do have vegan options and they are a bit scarce around town. The menu could be more clear of what can be made vegan (or what they have for substitutions) with...
