I am writing this review just for that husband and wife couple who sat at the table next to me. I hope they see this review or maybe you know that couple and can pass along my message. That couple shocked me! The exact details are:
I felt like eating garlic naan (it is the only thing I can't get at home because a special oven is needed to make naan) so I came to this restaurant around 1:10pm on Monday, August 12, 2024. I sat down and ordered butter chicken, garlic naan, pop and lots of extra napkins.
There was that couple at the table next to me. They looked to be about 60, and the husband had on American flag shoes. I really liked those shoes BTW (and yes America is by far the best country, by far, but it was much better in the 80s and early 90s).
I tore off a piece of my garlic naan and made a little scoop with it, and then used the spoon to pick up a piece of butter chicken and its gravy and put it in my scoop to then eat the scoop. When I put my left arm back down on the table, my forearm hit the spoon's handle and that caused the spoon to flip and fall on the floor.
Since I had enough napkins, I cleaned the mess on the floor. It looked totally clean. But staff told me not to do that, they will send somebody. Then a guy came out with a mop and mopped that spot. There was nothing to pick up but yes the mop will clean the spot so it's not sticky. I said Hi to the guy and thanked him for cleaning that spot. I asked him his name but he replied "yeah" to everything. I realized he spoke zero English and I speak zero Spanish. So my plan did not work since we can't communicate.
My plan was to ask him to sit at my table so I could buy him anything he wants. He seemed like a nice guy and I wanted to do something nice for him (I know many Hispanics are hard workers and unsung heroes).
About 15 minutes later, that couple next to me was done eating and got up and left. They left in a new, big, fancy Cadillac SUV. Then 10 minutes later I got up to leave, I went to the counter and told my waiter, Abhi, that I'm ready to pay. He said I owe nothing, it's all paid for. I was like how is that? He told me that the couple that was next to me paid my bill. I asked why, I have never seen them before and don't know them. Abhi didn't know why. I was shocked! I told Abhi to let me pay his tip. He refused that too saying the couple took care of his tip too. I was so surprised! I asked him when he sees that couple again, would he please give them by big thank you. He said the couple comes in often, and he will make sure to tell them my message. I was amazed that I just got lunch 100% free, zero cost!
So if that couple sees this (or if you know them, tell them), Thank You very much for your kindness...
Read moreMy family had a wonderful dinner at Grand Indian Cuisine. Everything we ordered came out steaming hot, the flavors were delicious, and we ended up all trying what each person had ordered. The couple who served us were attentive to our needs, willing to recommend dishes, and kind. I would recommend Grand Indian Cuisine to anyone and hope to go back sooner rather than later to try more dishes. Food Ordered: Bread Basket - Great for sampling a variety of breads. Hyderabad Dum Biriyani - Delicious and had a bit of kick from the spice. It came as a generous serving which could easily be split between two people. Butter Lamb - The meat was tender and the sauce was perfect to put on the rice that came with it. The serving was a little smaller and better for one person, but since we were all trying everything it didn't matter too much. Tandoori Platter - Provides a variety of meat which means there is something for everyone to try. Chicken Malai Tikka - This dish has mild spices and was perfect for our family members who didn't want the spicy heat that comes with some of the other dishes. A generous serving that could easily be split between two people. Vegetable Samosa - This Samosa was the closest to the ones I had while in India. (I try the Samosas at each Indian Restaurant I go to hoping that it will taste the same or at least very similar.) Tea - A delicious milk tea! Gulab Jamun - So very sweet and a good dessert to share. It comes with two Gulab Jamun, but you only need part of one to be able to savor the flavor and...
