Love's Ice Cream & Chocolate — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

Love's Ice Cream is the best!!! We've been customers for years and can't say enough about their amazing flavors, organic based ingredients, and great service! The owner, Chris, truly cares about sourcing good/high quality, "clean", organic ingredients and is a master at his craft! He is so kind and accommodating; he cares about his customers and his team of workers. Yes, it's not the cheapest ice cream on the market but you get what you pay for! Real food and good ingredients cost more and taste better AND are better for our bodies. I love how much behind the scenes work Chris puts into ensuring it's the best all around!

We are gluten free and mostly dairy free and love that there are fabulous vegan options to enjoy as well. The low carb and new soft serve ice cream is amazing as well. We love buying scoops at the store and taking pints home. We've also tried several of the chocolates which are fabulous as well! There seriously has not been one thing we don't love that we've tried!

I also love that you can order online several days ahead and pick up later so ensure the pints we want will be available (even if I can't get there for several days). We are huge advocates of Love's organic based and amazing flavored treats! Give it a try! ...

Terrific fresh ice cream! Great selection of both traditional dairy ice cream and vegan non-dairy options. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The shop does allow samples and while I ultimately opted for the traditional dairy flavors, the vegan Lavender Blueberry was very tempting. The flavor was refreshing and the taste and texture were similar to dairy ice cream. I got the Cookies & Cream and Fresh Mint Chip in a waffle cone. Both flavors were excellent! The ice cream tasted fresh and is very rich and creamy without being too heavy. Both flavors were distinct and had a good amount of mix-ins. The waffle cone was also fresh and tasted great; it is smaller than many other waffle cones which I did not think was a bad thing. Portion sizes are fair (especially with how rich the ice cream tastes) but may seem small when compared to other Midwestern ice cream shops. Price is on the higher end but everything was well worth it!

In addition to awesome ice cream, they have a great selection of chocolate and confections with many being vegan. The bon-bons were excellent and available in a variety of flavors including Earl Grey and Michigan Cherry. Definitely recommend taking home some of their chocolates after trying...

The first thing everyone needs to understand about Loves is that this is truly homemade ice-cream. This is not like any other ice-cream stand that I am aware of in the city. Every other stand peddles branded ice-cream made by any number of mass producers.

The artisan flavors that are offered here are unique and delicious. There are vegan gelato options as well. Classics like Rum Raisin are to be sure to delight. The TCHO chocolate is a delicious treat with levels of flavor. One of my favorites is the Great bambino. It is like ordering ice cream with toppings of peanuts and caramel but expertly incorporated instead.

Keep up with them as daily offerings change as do the limited offers.

One thing that is truly a treat is their homemade waffle cones. Cooked and rolled to perfection. Cooked to just the right combination of bite and softness as they do not crumble. Yet to have one drip either.

We always stop and take a look at the offerings and typically share a small cone as the complex flavors leaving us savoring instead of mindlessly eating.
