I visited Maggie's today for lunch. I have been there many times through many years. This restaurant is not new to me and it is definitely one of my favorites because of the food flavor, authenticity and quality. I usually order barbacoa tacos with onion, cilantro, red salsa and lime on the side. If my wife is with me, we will order and share the Maggie's platter. If you have never been here before, this is a restaurant where you order at the counter and they usually bring it to your table. You sit wherever you choose. They can handle larger groups of a dozen or more. They have both table and booth style seating. The young lady taking your order my seem disinterested most times. You need to make sure she takes your order correctly or you may not get exactly what you order or how you wanted it. For example, today I ordered my onions, cilantro on the side and they came in the taco, not a big issue just one of the little things you may find bothersome. Otherwise, the servers and everyone else are extremely nice, kind and very helpful, do call on any of then if you are missing anything our just have general questions. The furnishings have been there for many years but it's always clean even when busy. The table I sat at had a small piece if it's surface missing. The bathrooms are clean, but sometimes cold in the winter. My rating is an average experience of several...

I'm delighted to share my five-star review for Maggie's Kitchen, the beloved Mexican restaurant that has been a cherished hometown staple for generations. From the moment you walk in, you're enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like home. The menu is a masterpiece, offering an array of authentic Mexican dishes that burst with flavor and tradition.

Every visit to Maggie's Kitchen is a culinary adventure. The salsa is a tantalizing blend of fresh ingredients that dances on your taste buds. Their tacos, bursting with succulent fillings, are simply irresistible. The enchiladas are a symphony of flavors, and the guacamole is a creamy delight.

What truly sets Maggie's Kitchen apart is the exceptional service and the genuine warmth of the staff. They make you feel like part of the family, and their passion for sharing Mexican culture through food is evident in every dish.

Maggie's Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's a treasured institution that has stood the test of time. Whether it's a casual meal with friends or a special celebration, Maggie's Kitchen is the place to go for an unforgettable Mexican dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a taste of Mexico right in the heart of...

Stumbled on this place this past weekend. It's a hole in the wall place so you have to look for it and when you walk in (for the first time), you may think, "no" because of all the walls being signed and I do mean all the walls! lol Even the restroom. BUT.....It'll grow on you and the food is awesome. They happened to have a vegetable beef soup special so I got that. No crackers or bread just the soup. Has a kick to it so I put fries in it but OMG, it was sooooooo good!! My husband got a burger and fries. The bun was eh but the burger itself was delicious. Fries are really good too. They make them fresh! The staff is wonderful. You order at the window and they'll call your name when it's ready. They always put a last name of a 'famous person' on the name they're calling. Funny.. :D The food is more thought about than the decor so you should try it. Actually, all the writing is kinda cool. Bring a pen! We are definitely going back when we do a day...

We love this place. The best Menudo and Barbacoa in Michigan. Maggie's is a family run joint that has been serving Grand Rapids for over 40 years. From the weekday business crowd at lunch, to the weekend filled with families out for breakfast or lunches. You know the place is good when you see Mexican grandpas eating here. Service is cafeteria style, with a very busy kitchen. This is a real family restaurant. Three generations work here. Serving the very best Mexican food in Grand Rapids. Fantastic tortillas too, fresh made from Milagros.

I’ve driven by Maggie’s many times...I never noticed it as it’s rather nondescript. Inside you’re transported to Mexico - the staff was friendly and the food was up fast. I got a wet burrito and a taco - too much food! Both items were stuffed with meat. I had the barbacoa and a spicy pork, though neither had any spice I could detect. Some salsa and sour cream added nicely to the experience. With generous portions, an authentic Mexican feel, and a friendly staff, I highly recommend you try it out!

There are many great places for Mexican food in Grand Rapids. However the food at Maggie's Kitchen is in my opinion the best. Seating is limited and the hours are limited. But if you are in the Bridge Street area and it's open it's worth the stop. Edit: I was just informed that the hours are not so limited as before. My apologies and that just makes it easier to stop in for the great food.
