We went to One Bourbon last night for our friend’s birthday. We did have reservations, which was great because we were able to get our table relatively quickly. We started at the bar (which had space for 6 easily on a Friday night!) and all got drinks. The bartenders (Tyler and Dustin) made drinks that were out of this world! I personally had an Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour. Both were great, but it was quite possibly the BEST whiskey sour I have ever had ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! Within our group - we also got the Sunshine and Smoke, which was an amazing mix of sweet, spicy and smoky. So cool! The Footloose, which is a Cran-Apple Mule that is seriously BOMB! And other various bourbon and whiskey drinks. Our experience here was so great, and Meagon, who helped with our table and service was great. We made sure to grab her name, just so I could mention her great service in this review - just to find out she was the owner. She absolutely shows and gives her heart in this place. She was down to earth and made sure everyone had a great time and service. Thank you! On to the food - we had several dishes and apps at our table and everything hit! Apps we got were the Cheese Curds, Biscuit Board and Southern Wontons - my only regret was not getting pics of all these lovely foods! The cheese curds and wontons were amazingly delightful and the dipping sauce **chef’s kiss** Our waiter was Chandler - and he was great at answering questions, and getting all our drinks/food! As for our meals -I personally had the Southern Chicken Sandwich - Nashville Hot. And.It.Slayed!! Spicy enough to get heat, but not overwhelming. The fries were good, too! The portion was huge, and even after sharing we took ½ home! My husband got the smoked ribeye and veggies (no pic 🙁) and loved it! Overall - great experience. Will be back again! Also we are interested in Wilma - their traveling drink cart. Ask about it!!

We had a reservation for 14 on 8/1. Our tables were ready when we arrived and we were greeted fairly promptly. Took a little while to get our drinks ordered. I ordered an extra dirty martini w blue cheese olives. I was told no blue cheese olives, which is fine, NBD. I got a regular martini with regular olives. The second one I ordered she brought me a sidecar of olive juice because the server realized that the drink wasn't cloudy enough to be extra dirty, instead of having them remake it. Also, this one DID have blue cheese olives. For the tables we got the biscuit boards - if you look at my pictures it literally was cold hard biscuits, pre sliced meat and cheese (looked like something you'd get a a grocery store deli), pickles, pickled onions, butter and some bland jam. These were pretty disappointing, especially for almost $30. Two of us got the Alaskan Halibut and were underwhelmed. I had many bones in mine and not a ton of flavor, the wild rice blend and veggies was very sub par and not anything that I couldn't make at home with minimal ingredients. Again, disappointed for $42. The resounding comments were it was just, meh. Okay. Which is pretty disappointing considering our bill was over $150 per couple. I will say our server did a good job of keeping us all straight, as all the couples were sitting at different tables and it got to be confusing for her. She was friendly and did keep glasses full once we got the initial ones. Overall, will not run back. Prices seemed out of line, considering they were on par with higher end restaurants around town.

Okay, I’m kind of obsessed. First, a little historical snack -the site belonged to the first bar in Kent county after prohibition! It’s absolutely gorgeous inside -perfect for cocktails with friends, after work get-togethers, dates, and catching up with family. If you don’t know much about spirits, do NOT worry! Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable -Meagan blew us away with her knowledge and her cocktail finesse! She started us off slow with a rose petal gimlet and blackberry thyme smash. WOWSA! Stunning concoctions! We then did a little whiskey tasting and moved into drinks highlighting bourbon -a burnt orange and vanilla old fashioned and blueberry boulevardier. The blueberry boulevardier is perfect for low-carb Googlers! And I forgot to mention the cheese curds! Simply stunning and a big, healthy order! They’re the lightest fried curds I’ve had -not greasy or heavy. Nice, light, well-seasoned, and crisp. For entrees we had the southern chicken sandwich, along with red beans and rice with chicken. Everything was wonderfully executed -throughout our experience, I was incredibly impressed with flavors and creativity. The environment was clean, welcoming, and unique. Further, staff were amazing! I highly recommend folks check this out. There’s a place for all -if you’re a bourbon connoisseur, you’ll be in HEAVEN! They have an impressive selection. If you’re new to bourbon and want to explore -this is the place to go, you’ll be taken care of whatever your needs.

Quirky little 'hole-in-the-wall' pub on the West Side (and, I am informed, The Best Side) of Grand Rapids. Very knowledgeable staff, friendly people. The whiskey list was overwhelming for this novice, but ask the employees for assistance if you need it. The menu is described as Southern comfort food, and that is an adequate description. I enjoyed a "Bourbon Burger" that was, per the advice of our waitperson, prepared more well than medium-well. Good call - done to perfection. The side order of beans was good, too...but I am a sucker for anything with bacon... My wife had the Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich, with the French onion soup for her side. She's kind of a maven when it comes to onion soup and gave it a thumbs up. Our waitperson was excellent, and once our table had established our 'smart ass' creds, was willing to give as good as we got. Charming as well as just a touch edgy. Nice combo! :-) All in all, a lovely dining experience. Given the stiff competition among West Michigan gastropubs, One Bourbon, stands out above the pack. Will be back.

I booked One Bourbon's Lounge and Oak Room for our company holiday party and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. I had the pleasure of working with Meagan throughout the planning process and she made it SO easy and stress-free; their entire event planning process is very well structured. The night of, everything was perfect! Chandler took great care of our team! We opted for an hor dourve-style menu (not a full meal) but the portions and food were VERY impressive! No one left hungry, that's for sure! The food was phenomenal, highlights being the hot cheese, charcuterie board, Caesar salad station, meatballs, Georgia wontons and some amazing beef kabobs. The atmosphere was upbeat and sophisticated, while embracing the building's history. The staff was extremely attentive and also knowledgeable about the building, impressing our entire staff with fun facts. I would highly recommend One Bourbon for a casual night out or your next corporate party. From the food to the staff, everything was exceptional!

So we ended up here because the restaurant we originally planned had electric issues. The menu had some intriguing options and they had tons of bourbon options, u fortunately we were just looking for some food and no drinks this night. We started with deviled eggs, the egg mixture itself was alright, but I'm 90% sure that the eggs were not boiled in house... and if you are gonna buy preboiiled eggs you should not be serving deviled eggs. The wife got a Caesar salad, wasn't terrible but was overpowering with the garlic and this is coming from someone who loves garlic and makes homemade Caesar often with tons of it. I got the Cajun ribeye, price point wasn't terrible but not cheap... seasoning on it was alright, was not a huge fan, was cooked alright. Mashed and asparagus were both just ok, some better use of spices probably could have gone a long way All in all, I don't know if I would seek this place out for a future meal, wasn't terrible but nothing too exciting
