Rice Wok Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

Don't waste your time going anywhere else for Chinese food. I've been ordering from Rice Wok for over a decade and literally have NEVER had a bad experience. The owners are friendly and the food is always of the highest quality. The vegetables are always perfectly cooked, and the food is always nice and hot. Flavor-wise, the Szechuan is the best I've had anywhere. No competition. Any time I am out of town and have to order from another Chinese restaurant, I'm disappointed because it's never as good as Rice Wok. They're always super fast too! And I almost forgot to mention, the portion sizes are generous for the cost so you always feel like you're getting your money's worth. I was somewhat fooled by the rave reviews. It was fine, but both of the dishes we received had lukewarm to cold fried rice. How can it be cold unless it's cooked well ahead of time and added to your order?

Also, despite having seating the place isn't really suited for dining in. We sat down and waited several minutes before they looked at us quizzically. When I asked for a server the woman standing by the counter shook her head and said, "no, you need to order here."

So we did.

Now, all that said, their egg rolls and crab rangoons were on point, especially the latter. I don't know if they are each hand made, but they looked like it and tasted better than most others I've had.

It's ok, not great, and I certainly wouldn't make a special trip to go...

We didnt have a good 1st time experience here at all. We were told our order would take about 15 minutes after placing but it ended up being 30 minutes. No biggie, everyone is understaffed so i understand. When my husband went in to pick it up, the older lady was incredibly rude because the staff had wrang him out wrong. After getting home with the food, i discover weve been giving the wrong food, on top of parts of our order being cold. When i called to ask for the correct food i was told that was what i ordered even though i have the receipt. I was treated horribly after spending $30 for a dinner for 2. Very very displeased.
