The Kitchen Counter by Wolfgang Puck — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

This place was a big disappointment. It looks like a nice little place to have breakfast or lunch. The menu is fairly limited. Service is not particularly fast. Fries and chips are not served hot. But the biggest disappointment was the Cuban sandwich. It was the special for the month and I was really looking forward to having one. My Cuban sandwich was at least 3/4 dill pickle. There's almost no meat on it at all. It look like a little bit of pulled pork and that was about it. It's one of the less expensive places to eat in the area. I went at lunchtime and service was pretty quick. I had the French dip and "upgraded" my side to fries because I was told they were really good. The fries were pretty good. The French dip was okay. The aoli used on it made the mushrooms and beef slide out. I don't mind a messy sandwich, but I do prefer it to stay together. The au jus needed a bit more seasoning (or something... I'm not a good critic by any means, but it seemed lacking in flavor). I would definitely go back and try something else. Their customer service is really quite good. Just wish I didn't have to pay for parking...

The Kitchen Counter is right in Amway Grand. On my way to a meeting I popped in real quick to grab something and ended up getting a blueberry muffin. I love blueberry muffins and this one was fine! Nothing crazy or special but not bad by any means. Just a solid overall muffin. It seems to get pretty busy so there was a bit of a wait but totally understandable. Kind of just feels like a Starbucks like place. Not bad I’d probably prefer to find a more local coffee shop next time. Very convenient if you’re staying at or have business at Amway...
