I have never thought I'd be writing a review on an Ethiopian restaurant, but I'm extremely happy I got a chance to try it. I noticed the restaurant right away so it really stood out on the street with the bright lime green paint really bringing some color to the neighborhood. When I first walked into the small establishment, I immediately after knew this food is about to be bomb because it smelled amazing inside. The gentleman inside was really friendly. I asked him if I could have the Tofu Combo Platter ($12.99; came with red lentils, curried split peas, and curried vegetable medley)(tasted AMAZING and VERY filling), then I wanted to try the Sambusas ($6.99) which are 3 fried pastries filled with puy lentils, green onions, and jalapeno peppers (nice little appetizer, I ate them by themselves but I think they'd be really great with somekind of dip or sauce). I convinced my fiance to let me order her the Curried Vegetables Medley ($8.99). I was the only one inside, so thankfully I referenced other reviews I knew it was going to be a bit of a wait, which was perfectly fine. The bag smelled amazing the whole drive home. The dishes came with a a LOT of bread I've never seen before, but it's meant to be used to pick up the food and eat it with your hands. The food was full of amazing flavors, and the tofu had a great kick to it, and the bread had a hint of sweetness to it but it complimented the best of the food. The potatoes were probably the most flavorful potatoes I've ever had. This was a whole new experience for me and honestly a really cool way to taste the experience and flavor of a fascinating culture, and I'm really thankful I got to try this! I would love to have this again next time I'm in the area.

The food and drinks here are very delicious! If you want healthy, delicious vegan Ethiopian food, then this is the place! They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything at the restaurant is very fresh and made to order! The meals are fairly inexpensive, even if you have a good appetite, you will not spend more than $20 for one person and most meals are $8-$16 dollars. The gentleman working there today was working alone and he still got my sister, my 14 year old nephew, and myself our food quite quickly and it was delicious and the right temperature. He was also very kind and sweet to us and also all the other customers! The only thing that we personally did not like was the fact that my sister is very pregnant, and couldn't really fit in the seating booth because of her baby belly but the lovely gentleman made a compromise for us. I was hoping they had a small table that she could use in the more open space of the restaurant but this is a new restaurant and if we support them, they will have the money to expand! Please go try them out and support them. And extra (vegan) brownie points! The restaurant is eco-friendly. So 5/5 stars, I will be back for more food! In the pictures, I had the mushroom combo for two(sub their veggie medley for their beet medley), the kale stew, a full serving of beet stew, and sambusas(cooked in an air dryer so they're not greasy or super unhealthy). I highly recommend trying them out!

This rating has nothing to do with the food which is fabulous. This rating is about the service which has been very poor!!! My husband and I have tried to reach out to the Campus location for nearly 2 weeks. No one answers the telephone. The voice mailbox is always full. The online order option is not available. Thereās no Google update about the hours or the reason we cannot order. Today we decided to try the new Grand View location. I called and was only given the option of voice mail. It was 45mins to closing so I tried to order online instead. I picked out all the items we wanted to try ($45 worth of food before tip, mind you) and the payment option is malfunctioning! š Does nothing but take you into a repeated loop without completing the order. So I asked my husband to the location where he drove 20 minutes like a bat out of Hades to get the deliciousness in time. And he found a handwritten sign saying sorry, weāre closed come back tomorrow AROUND 11:30a! š«š«š«š” I love you Brother, but youāre making us work too hard to support you. Itāll be awhile before we try to order with you again. We didnāt want to place a bad review but we canāt get you on the phone or in person to let you know how your service and hours are affecting your customers!

These seems to be the typical pic thatās advertised for this place, but I think itās a little misunderstood. This is the Tofu Combo, and itās not just a platter of a variety of different foods to choose from you simply eat with a fork. Itās a playhouse for your tastebuds! And itās fun to eat! The rolls you see around the borders are rolls of bread called āinjera.ā They feel like theyāre fun, gelatin dessert rolls, but nope- itās vegan bread!!! I was pleasantly surprised. Anyway, you tear off individual pieces of these bread wraps and grip the ingredients with your fingertips. Itās like you customize every single bite! Itās seriously fantastic, and it was very fun. Even finishing the dish was satisfying, because it was like there was exactly enough bread to match the ingredients, and itās vegan, so thereās no ābad Karma (=bad energy)ā from any tortured while alive or dead animals. To be honest, I didnāt even know what I was eating except for the line of tofu and the bread, but I tell you what: I certainly enjoyed it! (P.S. They also have Chai Tea? and some other drinks and snacks that I might have been happy to try if I was into caffeine, but cāest la vie!)

Ordered takeout at 11:55am and order confirmation said itād be ready at 12:15pm. I ordered the sambusas and tomato cucumber salad. I showed up at 12:15, place was empty and no one at the front. After a minute or two, a gentleman came out front and I told him I was there to pick up my order. Not only was it NOT ready, the ticket for my order still on the printer kiosk at the front so he was just then seeing my order for the first time. He told me it would be 6-7 minutes, but it actually took over 20 minutes and I didnāt walk out of there until 12:39. My lunch break is almost over at this point. I opened the sambusas to start eating them on the way back to my office and was immediately disappointed with how small and overdone they looked. Imagine my surprise when I took a bite and found that they were not only far beyond ālightlyā fried, but they had the audacity to be unbelievably dry, bland, and the lentils were UNDERCOOKED. I couldnāt even finish eating them. Definitely my first and LAST time Iāll order from here. extremely disappointing.

My wife and I had dinner here while visiting from out of town. While I am not an expert, I love Ethiopian food. I have visited Ethiopia and eaten local food there during several week-long trips. My wife and I visit Ethiopian restaurants as often as we can find them while traveling in the U.S. Of everywhere I have eaten Ethiopian, my meal at Nile Vegan was the best. In fact, I would place our dinner there among my all time top five dinners, period. I know it sounds like hyperbole, but I don't write many reviews, and, as you can see, I am taking time to write this one. It was absolutely fresh, extremely tasty, and the 10 stew platter provided a delightful mix of delicious flavors and textures. - Wishing I lived closer to Columbus. . .
