So I go in today to get food. It takes multiple minutes of standing and waiting before someone comes to the counter. I use a coupon card from a previous mess up order and I figured going inside would be easiest. I get question about where I got it, how I got it and so on. While trying to order, i was told that the card is limited in what i can get and they will only let me use it for specific sandwiches. That is false. I asked if the card said that and she said yes but refused to show me where. I asked to look at the one the other person behind me had and it in fact did not. Then the other person in my group also had one and the manager walks away without taking their order even though I try to tell her while I am at the counter still. Takes another couple minutes for the young man behind the counter to see that the other person wants to order, I inform him that it will be another coupon card so he grabs a different manager. Half way through his order the other manager pulls out her phone, awnsers a call and walks away without a word. The young guy comes back and sees that the transaction was incomplete and calls the original manager back. She finishes ringing the other person up and we wait. I get home and realize my food is messed up. I was unable to go right back so I decided to call. It took me calling 6 times to get someone to pick up. I talk the the gentleman, voice the issues, inform him of the odd treatment while ordering and request my food to be remade. I inform him I can go back about 3 hours later. He said he would be there and that I would get a refund and fresh food. I thanked him for being professional and for fixing the mistake. As soon as I walk in I see the manager from earlier. I informed her that I had called earlier and that there was an issue with my food. She immediately called me a liar and told me that she talked to the one who made my meal. Said they were made right and I'm a liar again. But I brought the food back. I walked to my car, grabbed it and laid it on the counter. Both burgers were wring. I had the receipt they stick to the bag and put that next to the burgers. She got snotty with me and asked what I wanted then. I started by saying that it was very rude and unprofessional to just call me a liar. I said I was offered a refund and fresh food. I showed her the way I would like them dine as they were rang in properly but made wrong and she went to get my food remade. I was pretty upset9ver her calling me a liar and the continued disrespect so when a second manager approached the counter I asked her for a moment of her time. I explained the situation and was giving her a run down of what happened with the first lady and the first lady jumped back in to yell about how I wasn't getting a refund. I did interrupt her and told her I had not asked the second manager for a refund and that I was past that. I told the first lady that I was having a different conversation and that our interaction had finished. I asked to not be interrupted again while I was talking to someone else. I turned back to the second manager and told her I'm not asking for a refund, I was hoping for a work related email of the GM due to the level of disrespect and unprofessional behavior. Read moreI knew I had a long day of shopping ahead of me so I decided to go for some breakfast. I waited a bit in the drive through and finally was able to place my order of a bacon egg and cheese biscuit meal. I see in the menu that the price for the meal says it’s 5.15 so when the guy tells me my total will be 7.50 I let him know that seemed high and he said he’d handle it at the first window. After another long wait, I get to the first window and again mention the price discrepancy. He goes to get a manager who then comes over to tell me that that’s the price and I explain that he might want to adjust the board because it says it’s 5.15. He ends up lowering the price to 6.98 and acts like he was doing me a huge favor when it was still wrong. So I wait again to get to the second window and she tells me that they’re making fresh hash browns so it’ll be a couple of minutes. I said ok no problem. I’m sitting there waiting and I see a lady come out of the side door and she has a bag of food in her hand. She waves me to pull forward so I pull up to her. She asks me if I ordered a #1 Big Mac meal. I said no, I’m waiting on a biscuit bacon egg and cheese meal. She said oh ok wait right here and I’ll go find yours. So I wait again. About 6-7 cars go around me when I finally decide to park and go in to see what’s going on. As I’m going in, I see the same lady coming out with a bag in her hand. I said oh good you found my food, she Asks me if I ordered a medium fry. I once again tell her I was waiting on a bacon egg and cheese meal. I said the lady behind me ordered the medium fry but she more than likely ended up with my food when you motioned for me to pull forward. At this point we’re approaching the inside dining room line and she starts arguing loudly with me that she did not wave me to pull forward but that I assumed she had my food once I seen the bag in her hand. I said that I didn’t want to argue with her but that I’d just like to get my food and be on my way. She grabbed my receipt and stormed to the back. I saw the same guy manager that I had at the first window and asked to speak with him. He comes up to the counter and I explain that I’m still waiting for my food and that this lady motioned for me to pull forward so I then lost my spot in line and my food was given to the wrong person. By then she was back up next to him and she’s denying everything and then says that I’ve hardly been waiting at all. I said look at my receipt. It said 1:11 pm from when I paid at the first window and it was now 1:30 pm. He asked for my receipt and I explained that I gave it to her. He then loudly said, in front of everybody in the lobby “ I’m tired of your attitude so I’m just going to refund you your money so you can leave!” I was so embarrassed that they were making this out to be like I was some crazy lady that had no reason to be upset. Then she says to him “ Thank you for backing me up, she was lying” I was appalled at how they treated me. He came back with my refund and then tells me he gave me more than what he owed me for my trouble. I got back to my car and counted and he gave me .40 flippin cents more. Thanks a lot buddy! Read moreOh how I wish I could leave a 0 star rating... Friends have warned me about this McDonald's, but I met up with someone here to buy an item from facebook marketplace and thought I'd place a quick mobile order and leave... But no, I should have heeded the warnings.
This location is probably one of the worst in Grand Rapids I've ever been to! (And that's saying a lot because 44th and Eastern McDonald's is absolutely atrocious.) While standing in line waiting for over 10 minutes for my mobile order to be completed, another customer walked up with her receipt and spoke to one of the employees stating that she has been waiting for over 15 minutes for her order that she had been pulled forward and drive through for. The manager gave her her bag of food and said "I was just coming out to bring it to you", but I had seen it sitting there for several minutes already. As the customer turned away from the counter, the employee behind the counter said "can't you see we busy? Damn a**!" under his breath--the customer did not hear him, but I sure did. My order was ready within just a few moments after that but no one put it in a bag tobring it to me and after a minute the person that was on back line came forward and put my stuff into a bag and handed it to me, thanking me for coming into McDonald's that day. He was the ONLY friendly person in that restaurant! It's really sad when no one else even acknowledges your existence (they all looked at me, but not one word was said) and someone from the back line has to come and help you with your order. And I can say that, because I used to run several fast food restaurants as an assistant manager! One other thing to note is just how lazy this team is. As you can see in this photo they've decided that putting a cup with this writing on it over the ketchup dispenser was a easier alternative to just replacing the cryo ketchup bag. And yes, it is actually just empty, it does actually work, I tried it it does work. They're just lazy. The restaurant was incredibly dirty, and they were not at all busy. This team really needs more training and better employees who actually care, even a little bit, about their job.
