First and most likely the last time I go there. I was really impressed with the coziness and the feeling of being in someone's living room. Beautiful house. I was excited to see what they offered as I came there on a recommendation from a friend. The service meteocur. Bad experience with the food. I ordered a smoothie which was really good. Not a large selection of coffee or food. They don't have a selection for kids so I got a plain croissant and peanut butter for my grandson and chocolate milk. For myself the smoothie a latte and their ham and cheese croissant. My friend got a latte and a chicken salad croissant. We were under the impression that our food would be brought to us (our mistake). We waited and waited for over 20 mins. Nothing so I went up and asked where our orders were. They had been sitting on the counter for a long time plus half our order was missing. The girls said someone must have taken it. So she made my grandson order and lattes were remade. They apologized and made new lattes for us plus they messed up the order. You would think if they saw the food sitting there they would have brought it out. Tip of the iceberg was when I looked in my bag that was the ham and cheese croissant it looked like the size of a small cookie and smashed. I took it up to them and said there didn't even look like there was anything in the croissant. The girl behind the counter said "Oh there is stuff in there you just can't see it" That's a laugh. So I got a refund. My friend also said the chicken salad was just chicken and mayo bland taste. I almost laughed when she asked if I wanted another. No thanks so I got a refund and left hungry My hobby is going to small towns looking for the best coffee houses in Ohio. Unfortunately I was very disappointed in this one. I may give it one more chance since I love Granville and the atmosphere however the quality of the food and service need attention. For now the jury...
Read moreI am quite disappointed with this location in the last month with how staff treat customers and each other. The other night I was in sitting near closing time just before 5. A single gentleman comes in at 4:55 and the staff member told him that she was focusing on closing and that she would finish the customer ahead of him and close the doors. Maybe I am old fashioned but people want to go to places, spend time there because they ENJOY the staff and environment. What kind of establishment turns customers away BEFORE closing? Listen I have been in the food industry when I was a younger man and I am currently a branch manager for a large banking corporation, taking care of your customers looks like taking care of them! When you close at 5 pm, you are still open at 4:55.
There have been major changes in management of this location, and unfortunately it is showing that the decisions made are making it hard for people to continue to support you.
Please, as a Granville local fan of River Road Coffee, I am begging you to please evaluate your staff and training in...
Read moreMan, this is the review I never wanted to write. This location has been slowly going downhill. I used to love going here in the morning.. This goes back to when they had Josh and Megan in the morning crew. They made small talk with you when they could. That crew was cheery. Now, not so much. Today’s girl sounded like a robot. No personality. I use the drive thru. Get to the window and she did not look at me to take my card just said the total. Then, handed me the cardholder to sign - “here”. I don’t expect too much. Can you toast my bagel all the way? Can you pretend you like your job? Oh, and someone wipe the sill of the window you are handing coffee and food through. It is caked with gunk. Maybe because the owners are not there on the daily? Not sure but there is a rotation of people there and they don’t seem to care. I won’t be going back. I really love the barista downtown anyway. She makes the best coffee and they seem nice there....
