Very quaint, super friendly little spot off the beaten path. We were at WVU this weekend to move my youngest child into college. Wanted to go out together for breakfast before driving home & found this restaurant. We got there from campus in 10 minutes to find the place packed at 11 a.m. We actually had to let a car pull out to grab the parking space (& when we left the pattern repeated, as someone left us out for our space). Once inside, we had less than 15 minutes wait to get a booth for the 4 of us. Staff were unbelievably nice and so were the other patrons, we chatted with a nice couple while we waited & got a few other recommendations on the best local places to eat. We were told it's always pretty busy, but today was unusually so. We ordered quickly and had a nice long time to talk at our booth. Both staff and customers said the food takes time, each order prepared fresh, but it's worth the wait. I would agree, the 4 of us got completely different breakfasts, and all were great. This is a place right out of Guy Fieri's Triple D show. Will come again & soak up the local vibes. Most patrons knew one another & several greeted us as welcome friends. You need to build in some wait, but can't...
Read moreJust everything here is really good. My girlfriend actually said she won’t eat breakfast anywhere else in Morgantown except for here. The food is home cooked breakfast. Yes it doesn’t come out in five minutes, but wouldn’t you rather wait just a tiny bit longer for really good food then to get super fast terrible food? The waitresses are all super friendly and especially their husbands or the regulars that seemed to help them out - or when the little kids are walking around helping their parents work. My son and niece absolutely love this place. Be sure to check the wall for specials. And their desserts are really good. Breakfast, lunch or dinner it’s all really good and if you’re a kid, the pancake comes Mickey Mouse shaped. I’ve had the meatloaf and that is also very good. I’ve had the burger and that is very good. The sloppy Joe’s are probably my favorite. The one little girl will grab the tips and run them up to one of the gentlemen that works there (I think it’s her grandpap) and it’s probably one of the most adorable things I’ve seen in...
Read moreI found this place on Google maps as we were on a bike ride thru the mountains. The food looked good and the reviews. Upon pulling into the parking lot I thought we were in the wrong place.
After walking in we we're both going umm.. Uhh. This place is the definition of a hole in the wall.
We were greeted by a friendly girl running her butt off getting everybody their food and refills.
Sat down, ordered and got our food. We both had the deep fried french toast with a side of home fries. Deep fried french toast is interesting. Reminds me of something you'd get at the state fair.
That said the food was good, cheap, and the staff friendly. But keep in mind, it's really a hole in the wall. The bathrooms are very odd (water closets with a communal sink, tables mismatched with blocks of wood to level them, mismatched plates and silverware, etc. It's really a lot to take in. If you are the prissy type, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you are after a good home cooked meal, then...
