Down in the heart of Grapevine, Texas go and enjoy some great burgers at Jake's Burgers and Beers! This is a clean sit down and enjoy the game, with friends or family with that outdoor feel restaurant. This location is next to the Farmers Market. This location has clean restrooms, plenty of seating and good food is just a bonus. Share it with a loved one or family, this would be a great location for a first date! Plenty of stores to walk and explore both before and after your meal. It's a sports bar but not that rowdy crowd your mama told you about. Burgers were on point with fresh beef and veggies on a soft toasted bun. Waitress are fast and friendly...But wait, I said 4 stars and not 5? Well the female wearing the Dallas Cowboys jersey was asked if she could send our waitress to our table and the rudest response came from the voice of a BBW with a mans voice. I guess she was upset that the Boys actually won a game, had a bad day, or just upset at what she was wearing...ultimately she represents the restaurant receiving this review and put a damper on what should of been a 5 star review. Other waitresses at this location were friendly and on it as far as services goes. Back to the food, grill cheese with bacon my kid loved it. Jalepeno chips on my burger was the best! Shreaded lettus, thick sliced tomatoes and enough pickles to cover your burger an awesome touch. Alot onion which, I am not a fan of but I simply forgot to tell them to hold the onions. Burger buns are soft and toasted either plain or with poppy seeds. I will have to go back though to try the sweet potato fries and large onion rings...I know I said I didn't like onions but that's only on my burgers. Two all beef meat patties on all burgers but a new year and I got to or at least try to cut down a little, besides the wife was there to hold me too it! Thanks for keeping me on the right path. One thing you need to know about the water or tea. It's Grapevine water which is alot different if your not from there which will have a funny taste but I would still put up with that than a rude waitress any day of the week and twice on Sunday! So go to Jake's eat a burger, have a beer or just explore the menu. Hope to see...
Read moreOrdered delivery. Driver was good. Issue is with order. Nothing was right and veggies were frozen would have been okay except they had not really been cooked only as if a quick blanche. As if that weren't bad enough, they were full of water making them cold and tasteless. I ordered them with grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. What I received was part of a chicken breast grilled, unseasoned and full of what I call grizzle, half of the breast was not edible. The other grilled chicken was fine but refrigerator cold. And no mashed potatoes but filled in with you guessed it uncooked frozen watered down veggies. The meal that actually had mashed potatoes was less than desirable because the veggies water turn them into a potato swamp. The last part of the meal was a veggie plate which should have been two side salads and green beans. What we got was , yes you guessed it again, mixed veggies, green beans and one side salad. With what we paid, one would think some one at Jakes would have checked the order for correctness at least, the fact that I was trying to have a healthy meal didn't even factor into this for the people who prepared this order. What I got from Jakes was a good delivery driver who handed off a secure stapled up bag filled with very unhealthy food that was way below safety temperatures. This was a $55.00 meal wasted along with our time, that can not be gotten back. Buyer beware ordering online from Jakes in Grapevine on Main. Yes, I did attempt to reach out to them to no avail. Stop leaving the phone off the hook after you hang up on someone who has called. This is no way to...
Read moreA Grand Feast at Jake’s Burgers and Beer
Verily, if thou seeketh a place where the vittles be crafted with the love of a southern grandmother’s kitchen and the cheer floweth as free as a river in spring, then tarry no longer—Jake’s Burgers and Beer is thy hallowed ground.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by none other than Ruben, a man of rare and noble character. A true son of the South, he carried himself with a kindness as warm as a hearth on a winter’s eve. His voice, rich with the melody of down-home hospitality, wrapped around us like a quilt stitched by loving hands. With a smile broad as the Texas plains, he bid us welcome and saw to our every need with a grace most uncommon in these modern days.
And lo, the meal! A fine, old-fashioned burger, stacked high and true, with juices that ran like honey from a comb. Each bite was a song, a harmony of charred beef, fresh toppings, and the buttery embrace of a toasted bun. Beside it, a bounty of hand-cut sweet potato fries, golden and crisp, made all the more divine by a marshmallow sauce so rich it could make a grown man weep.
As the tankards clinked and the laughter rang, Ruben tended to us as though we were kin, ensuring our cups were never dry and our hearts ever merry. A man of service, aye, but more than that—a man of the Lord’s own generosity, who doth embody the spirit of true Southern grace.
If thou hast a mind for good eatin’ and even better company, hie thee hence to Jake’s Burgers and Beer, and if fortune smiles upon thee, let Ruben be thy guide to a meal...
