We wanted to have a nice, sit-down meal while waiting for our flight. This is one of the nicer restaurants in the Terminal C corridor. For a seafood restaurant, it was pretty good. Prices were a bit on the high side; not sure if it was because this was an airport location or if this is normal for the restaurant. The food served here is definitely fresh and of higher quality. We ordered the Coconut Shrimp, the hand tossed Shrimp & Crab Cocktail, the Oysters Pappadeaux and a House Salad. The house salad was freshly prepared with field greens, chopped hard boiled eggs, topped with warmed fried bacon pieces and homemade croutons. I selected the creamy vinaigrette dressing, which was a perfect balance of tang and sweetness that I love in a dressing. Great start to the meal. Next up were the Oysters Pappadeaux. The description said that it was oysters baked with spinach, lump crabmeat and topped with hollandaise sauce. When the dish arrived, what I thought were the lump crabmeat were what tasted like, feta cheese crumbles. I had to dig around to find the crabmeat, which was more like crab filaments than lump crabmeat. The Coconut Shrimp arrived, nice and crispy. What appeared to be colossal sized shrimp turned out to be jumbo sized shrimp with a 1/4" crust of coconut batter, which was good. This gives you enough of a coconut flavor and crunch that doesn't flake off and still a good taste of the shrimp. That was accompanied with a cabbage slaw and sweet dipping sauce. The last dish was a hand tossed Shrimp and Crab Cocktail. This dish was very nicely presented and beautifully tossed together. The richly ripened avocado chunks added a buttery contrast to the tart, sweet and savory flavors of the house made cocktail sauce. Grape tomatoes added a fresh tomato flavor without being overpowering. Again, the lump crabmeat were more like slivers of broken crabmeat flavors...maybe this portion was at the botton of the lump crabmeat bin. Overall, the dining experience was very good. The service here was very professional and accommodating without being overbearing or making you feel uncomfortable. The food was very good, lump crabmeat issue aside. I would relish the opportunity to dine at one of their brick and mortar locations to see if it offers the same menu...
Read moreMuch better than I expected. I ordered the seafood salad, which was about $20, accepting the fact that I'm in an airport and I'll just live with a mediocre small portion for double what the cost should be. Boy was I wrong! When the salad arrived, not only was I shocked at how huge it was, but also that it was a masterpiece of fresh ingredients arranged in a great presentation. It was loaded with fresh shrimp, real lump crab meat, avocados, quality bleu cheese, delicious bacon, and chopped egg. I was hungry, and I could only manage to eat half of it. Service was friendly and attentive, and my server offered to box the rest for me, but sadly there was no way it would have survived the next five hours of my trip. Next time I'm in DFW terminal C I know where I'm eating, but only if I'm traveling with someone willing to share a...
Read moreDon’t want to be a Karen, but this place is HORRIBLE. Decided to eat here before our flight with my colleague. He ordered Louisiana seafood combo, I ordered Pappas Greek Salad (asked for the dressing on the side. Just olive oil), Chardonnay (5 oz) and Crab & Spinach Cocktail. What they brought was shocking. The server brought salad with two shrimps and some shrimp on the side. Shrimps were not event cleaned properly and tasted weird. I sent the salad back and didn’t put any other order. When they brought the bill, I saw they put 8 oz of wine instead of 5 oz as I ordered… My colleague was also disappointed with his ordered. It was over salted. So, overall, if you don’t want to fly for 5 hours on empty stomach, avoid this please. Have a...
