Disappointing, lackluster service with uninviting ambiance and smelly beverages! This was our family's first time dining in at this restaurant and, to put it quite bluntly, it was terrible. Definitely would not recommend this place. To begin with, our server was pretty rude and cold, barely interested in anything other than hurrying us along so we could get on out the door... even though we showed up before 6pm! There was also one guy seated near the cooking area in back, who was presumably one of the other servers but sort of nodding off every so often as he quietly leered at us and the only other family in the establishment. Needless to say, it gave us the chills and was very odd. Onto the food--there is nothing much to say other than it's not worth the price. I'd recommend Panda Express to-go before this place. The worst part was the beverages. Our family had some iced tea and a Dr. Pepper, but for whatever reason they reeked of gassy sewer water. I barely stomached two sips of my tea before I had to ask our server to take it away as it was basically like me sipping watered down petroleum. I've seen other reviews that show this place is capable of better, but it's going to take our family at least several months before we work up the courage to roll the dice...
Read morePearl is amazing, you should simply take my word for it. You don't know me so I will elaborate. The Crab Rangoon is the second best I've had (the first place was this little place outside of Denver. I will never reveal the name because I don't want them to become famous and then I will loose my secret take out spot. Chinese takeout is my jam and you could consider Pearl my album I have loved it since I have moved here.
My go too's there are the Chicken Fried Rice with Pineapple added Beef Lo-mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Egg Drop Soup. That added with the Crab Rangoon I can feed an army, or my family can enjoy the food day after day. My family often thinks I got it from Pei-wei or PF Changs because the food tastes so good, until who ever is buying sees the bill and we average around $30-40 for that load of food.
You can not go wrong with the delivery either. You will be quoted some time of 30 min, maybe longer. One order we made from phone call to delivery was fourteen min.
8 May Update I have come back and gone from 4-5 stars, the quality somehow through this hardship has improved. The food always arrives hot, it is fast, it consistently amazing and has improved, even with...
Read moreWe've eaten at this place over 10 years and the food is normally halfway decent. tonight was a different story...we ordered fried wontons and rice noodles. Wontons were fried to the point that they were inedible. Noodles tasted like burned chore boy whatever steel wool they use to scrub the last burnt meal out of the Wok and did not rinse. So I called them, the gentleman on the phone cheerfully offered to bring me a new meal and I gratefully accepted. Thinking to myself, what great customer service. That thought quickly disappeared when the driver shows up demanding the burnt crap in the garbage be returned to the restaurant I have never heard of a restaurant asking to for food back! Never! So, I dug out of the trash what I so this rude person would would leave. Well guess what, the new wontons were burnt to a crisp too! I'm not sure who this person was , but he had the sauce they give with the wontons on his shirt looking like mine on the way over! One could tell that the sauce did not get on his shirt from preparing the meal. The Noodles were better.. but still tasted like burnt scrub pad. I won't be eating there again I hear of a change...
