Having worked in the hotel and food service business in a upscale Starwood Sheraton hotel I believe my opinion should be of consideration. We showed up with table of 10 and right from get go the rating would be a ZER0!! Kathy the server was rude when I asked her to, in a friendly manner, to get the ladies order first she became rude to me, brushing past me to take the others orders. Interestingly enough if she had been even a modicum of friendly she would have been lined up for a huge tip (even though the 20% she was automatically lined up probably was all she was interested in) since we had two friendly Kathys at the table. And it was nothing but downhill from there. She copped an attitude about this very rudimentary service standard She walked around me, proceeded to go around the table and take orders and then, to beat the band, walked off without taking an order from me. As soon as I thought that was as low as she could go she proceeded back and did a lottery call for the drinks that she had earlier walked around the table to take the orders IN ORDER no less. And then she proceeded to respond rudely to our fellow guest who asked sweetly where the milk was she had requested for her baby. I was going to have nothing to do with her getting her automatic 20% gratuity for table over 6 so I ate nothing and enjoyed the company of my friends. Definitely a 0 on the service, but I gave her second star as the managers were attentive and did try to respond to my complaint. They however did not send a different server. The manager, despite asking me twice if there was anything they could do and assuring me they said something to her they never gave any kind of discount or consideration about this clearly explained poor service. If you can go to a nice place like the Gaylord, eat at one of their restaurants, and not even get attentive service and anything beyond a lottery call for both your drink and food - it is a ZERO! Everybody enjoyed their food but since I didn't eat any complimentary or otherwise I would have to rate it a ZERO, but in fairness to my fellow guests opinion we'll give it a 3. Atmosphere gets a really high rating because I was impressed with the TV, which was so large and detailed you could see the threads on the ball from the baseball game we were watching. That said, it was really hard to hear in there, and probably made the server have a headache or something? Again, she gets a ZERO, which is what my experience was at what's should have been a great first evening experience at the Gaylord. It was also my portion of the automatically gratuit(ied) 20% she did not earn. Come on Texas Station, and Kathy, basic rules of service etiquette, ladies first and no lottery style delivery of food. You can do better than ZER0! I am certainly hoping the rest of my experience here will not be nearly as disappointing since we are here for three days. Time...
Read moreNever will I ever eat here again. The service sucked and the food was gross, uncooked and overpriced. I wasted $75 plus on a meal I did not eat. Out of all the places I ate at in Texas this was the worst! The only thing I liked was the appetizer which was the Texan egg rolls. I ordered some hamburger that they had advertised and it came to our table uncooked twice, I'm talking rare, the cow was still mooing. My nephews almost bit into it! We sent it back and they brought back another burger that looked cooked but low and behold it was uncooked again! They removed that meal from the table after we asked. I told the waiter I wanted cheddar cheese on my burger and house chips. My burger came without cheese and he brought fries. He ended up bringing me my chips and cheese after I ate the nasty burger. Mind you, I ended up getting my meal last when we should have been leaving, because he assumed that I didn't want to order and completely skipped taking my order. I wish I would have just not given any more business at that point. My niece ordered some disgusting nachos that she didn't even eat at all. As a matter of fact she left it. We all got our bill and they had the nerve to take gratuity out. Like what?? Only two people actually ate and there was only two adults he was serving. I guess they know the service sucks so bad that no one would tip. I would have tipped, but not $12+ the service definitely was not worth that. I will never come here again and I do not recommend. If you are looking for good eats at affordable prices go to Razoo's and/or Hard Eight BBQ. I don't know how this horrible restaurant made it in this wonderful hotel, but they need to reconsider. Normally, I would raise a fuss, but I charged it to the game and they are just going to get this 1 star from me because the service and experience...
Read moreI know this is a sports bar and its mostly catered to men fooling around, drinking, having a good time. However, for around $19 dollars for a burger and $15 for just some chips and salsa/guac/queso, I'd expect a little better quality in comparison to the price paid.
Food= The water is good and pepsi tastes fresh. Chips feel grainy and solid (although our chips were crushed a little to make it seem like there were more..) Salsa has texture and isn't very liquidy, Guac has texture and tastes nice, queso is cheesy and has a warm fulfilling taste. I got whichever burger was on the top, it was the one with boars head american cheese for around $19 dollars. It was meh. Turkey BLT was good, potato salad was good. Chicken tenders were meh.
Service= Our waiter Julia was good but because there are so many people and not enough waiters, you have slower service. But she did great considering the business of quakecon.
Environment= Obviously you have the huge TV screen with 7 different shows, but how can we even hear what's going on? Captions??? I like the tall big ceilings though, makes it feel a bit more spacious.
Overall, I feel as if this is an alcoholic sports bar, not a restaurant for everyones...
