Goodale's Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Grayling

I stopped here yesterday on my way across the state. I debated writing a review at all but after twenty four hours, I'm still thinking about my experience. I went to the sandwich side and ordered a couple of sandwiches from an extremely rude woman. She was just really extremely short with me, didn't greet me or tell me to have a nice day, which is fine. I understand that we all have bad days. Relieved to be done with my sandwich experience I went to the donut counter to order some donuts and not deal with this woman. She was taller, with dark brown hair, I didn't catch her name. Anyways, she's comes to the donut side to take my order and starts belittling her coworkers saying "why does she have to do everything around here" and made me feel like I was wasting her time when I knew what I wanted, was quick about ordering, and it wasn't busy in the shop. I work in service and I totally get not wanting to smile constantly and maybe she was having a bad day. But something tells me this woman is consistently miserable and rude to people and the fact that I had this experience yesterday and I spent a day wondering what was wrong with this woman or wondering if I did something to upset her has stuck with me and made me write this review. The customer service...

Good food and prices. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! (BETH). We stopped in here on vacation. My wife asked about the cream cheese ones. Beth replied "If that's what the sign says". Not yes ma'am, not yes. Just a short, snotty reply. After we ate our doughnuts (which were good), we bought some popcorn and waited at the cash register ready to check out. All 3 females were working on one doughnuts order. Nobody on check out. We stood there for a good few minutes. Beth finished the doughnut order and said "let's go to the other register so we don't have to move this out of the way". Referring to our stuff we were waiting to buy. Then when she finally got to us to ring us up she was visibly annoyed that we bought 30 dollars worth of stuff. I couldn't believe it! Like does she want to stand there and get paid and not have to do anything? Does she want to drive customers away? 🤔 The food was good but the customer service, especially Beth is horrendous. Prepare for a battle to get some decent...

The donuts were fine, I guess...I think attitude is everything. I walked in for my first time and the lady that I'm assuming owes/runs the place took my order. She talked down to me the entire time. I'm not sure if she was trying to be funny but she was clearly making me uncomfortable and continued to talk to me the way she was. I stayed pretty quiet the whole time because I was surprised she would talk to anyone that way...let alone someone in a military uniform. "I'm getting sick of open different doors because you want different donuts"..before I began I said "I'm going to get 4 different donuts" and then told her the 4 I wanted...I'm sorry that it was inconvenient for you to get what I asked for. Also I said "Can I please have...." then stated what I wanted and at the end she repeated "Please" with attitude as if I was being rude...I had already said please. Had my boss not been with me I would have walked out. I'll never go...
