Texas Bebe's Quesobirria — Restaurant in Grayslake

Best Mexican/Texas place I’ve been to. The food is so amazing and has so much flavor to it. Service was great the lady explained the whole menu to me and what I should get. Some of the best queso birria tacos I’ve ever had and the green and red sauce they have is ELITE. Not only is the food phenomenal but they have the best prices and HUGE portions. That house sampler Friday special is $15 (meant for 3 people) and I could barely get through half of it and I don’t play with food I can eat, like a lot! Also I had the Texas Twinkie which was like a jalepeno popper with brisket and cream cheese wrapped in bacon and oh my Lord that HITT THE SPOT. It is a jalepeno so only get if you like spicy. Definitely better than Los comales and el famous burrito this place has a special spot in my heart. 100000/10 must recommend and definitely try the queso birria tacos, house sampler, and Texas twinkie. I promise anyone reading this I have not been paid to write this review nor did they even ask me and this is the first review I’ve written for anything but I had to because this place is BOMBBBB💣💣💣 the photo is to show the gargantuan size of their chicken wings I could only finish two after eating a queso birria taco and Texas twinkie and some of Texas nachos. The wings are legit like 1.5 pounds each probably got like 60 grams of protein after eating only two lol!! The house sampler could easily feed two grown adult men. I recently dined at QuesaBirra Jalisco Tacos in Grasylake and I must say, it was an experience I would not recommend to anyone seeking a delightful culinary adventure. From tasteless dishes to exorbitant prices, this establishment left much to be desired.

Let's start with the food—the supposed star of any dining establishment. Unfortunately, the taste of the dishes fell flat, lacking the flavor and creativity one would expect, especially given the hefty price tag attached to each item. The menu boasted a variety of options, but the execution of each dish left me questioning the kitchen's abilities. It was clear that the chefs were not putting their heart and soul into creating a memorable dining experience.

Now, onto the issue of pricing. I was taken aback when I received the bill and noticed a significant difference from what I had anticipated based on the menu prices. Apparently, a mysterious tax increase had occurred, causing my total to skyrocket. While I understand that taxes are a part of any transaction, a 33% increase in the total bill, especially without prior notice, is simply unacceptable. The menu clearly stated the prices, but I was blindsided by an unexpected and unjustified hike, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth—both figuratively...

The food was so delicious and beautifully packaged I loved all of the variety in options of what you can order from this restaurant and although I do highly recommend eating here I would recommend just that.

They’re amazing in person but I wouldn’t suggest purchasing any of their products online/delivery as they do not offer the same menu and restrict your ability to prepare you’re order properly the way you can if you just go in person to avoid unjust fees and additional charges that you don’t agree to for sides/condiments that are supposed to go with your order. Beyond that the food was delicious I was just disappointed with my experience having it delivered since it was my only option to get it delivered for lunch while I was at work and can’t leave the premises during my shift but we can get deliveries to eat and they slipped unwarranted charges onto my order.
