It all started on a Sunday. I decided today was the day to enjoy a nice refreshing beverage from Sonic. What I didn't know was what would happen next. I am a simple man of simple pleasures. I see a Coney dog, I order a Coney dog. Something about today was different. Maybe it is that Greeley Air, or the Pandemic getting to me.
Today in the stall I was going to try something new. I decided I was going to try a happy hour cake shake. I rarely mention great service, but today Dylan ELEVATED the experience. Now I know what you're thinking. How can someone I have NEVER met elevate my experience. Well when this FINE YOUNG GENTLEMEN was walking into work. I immediately was taken aback by the cut of his jib.
I said to the man. Excuse me, and without hesitation he walked to my car, because this man Dylan knows when a customer is in need, and doesn't hesitate to act. Now he was wearing a mask, THANKFULLY and stood nice and tall maybe 6 foot I'd say 6'1. I asked him what he would recommend. Now he FIRMLY said You can't go wrong with the Mot sticks. I was confused, because I didn't know this new LINGO so like any savvy millennial I went to urban dictionary. After a few seconds I learned they were mozzarella sticks.
Now you might be thinking, why not ask this nice employee. If you understood how kind his eyes were, you wouldn't be able to focus on anything else either. I'm in a happily committed relationship, but those eyes make me as nervous as my good friend Joseph Belmont near a fire without socks on.
Now what Dylan couldn't have possibly known, was it was my good friends Joseph's Wedding on the 10th of December, and I was on a special mission to try all the cake shakes (Joe's favorite). Now if you're just passing through the sonic in Greely you may not know this, but they can sometimes have long lines in the drive thru. Not today though, I was lucky and that is a good thing.
I chatted it up with my fast friend Dylan. Did I mention his name yet? He was very helpful. He advised me of all the cake shake options, but did confess he was only but a CHEF and couldn't get me the shake himself, but knew his co-workers could help me out. To quote the 2007 film ratatouille "Anyone can cook", but apparently at sonic not ANYONE can make a shake. This was very sad. I knew I wanted a shake, but if Dylan didn't make it...? Would it be good? How would I know? How does anyone know really? I took a deep breath, and with Dylan's help Ordered a Cake Shake for my good friend Joe.
Now here is the thing. I didn't have the time I was spending, and Dylan had to go. A chef's job is never done. I was alone, I was scared, and I didn't know if the shake could match the service I had from Dylan just mere moments before. Now, I know what you're thinking. It's a sonic Andrew... Who cares? I CARE, that's who. If you knew me you'd know that I take my friends very seriously, and I, I fight for my friends.
When the shake came there was almost a sudden rush. Was Dylan right? Would he have let me down. I had just met him maybe five minutes earlier. All of these thoughts raced through my head. What would my friend Stacy do in this situation, she is very professional. Well I paid for my cake shake, my Mozzarella sticks, and was greeted with friendly service. I took the food, and the two shakes and they were excellent.
I don't have many muses, but I have one now. All thanks to my new friend Dylan. I know Joe will be proud to drink this shake, as it was just as AMAZING as mine. Around beginning of the year I went to a stall to pick up my app order, and waited for about 20 minutes just for my order, it even said someone's name was on their way with my order 15 minutes into my waiting, I had my 2 year old asleep in the car and was not about to wake her up to go check why it was taking so long. I also kept pushing the button with no answer. A long waiting time for a few slushies.
2 months ago I ordered a medium cake shake in the drive thru, the crew member taking my order even repeated back exactly what I said. When I got to the window I paid and was handed my shake. As I proceeded to leave the parking lot I started to try to drink my shake which was hard because it was still thick. so I pulled out my straw and took a little bit off of it and realize it was just a regular medium vanilla shake. when I went back I went through the drive-thru and told them that they just handed me a vanilla shake instead of a cake shake and all they did was squirt a small amount of cake shake on top of my whipped cream. I didn't even want to deal with the situation anymore and just left with my vanilla shake and Cake topped whipped cream.
Today (7/7) I ordered a kids meal and a Sonic cheeseburger customized. when I got home and opened up my burger I realized everything I had customized was not how the burger was. when I called the store I was told I can return to it to get a refund or get my name in the book for a replaced order or amounts of purchase, & I live across town, so with always getting food wrong what a joy to get my name in the book basically just for something else to be wrong. Also I had a empty Starbucks cup that I asked the car hop if she could please throw away for me, she gave me a blank look, then acted disgusted as she took the cup, and sighed yes while glaring at me. I was parked in stall 8, which is right in front of the window where the hand washing station is, I only know this cause I saw her immediately after she went in aggressively washing her hand, then yanked the paper towels out while looking at me then rolled her eyes. Wow, I'm glad she loves her job so much! Great customer service!

Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the second review I give to this place and of course not a good one I don't understand how this business still open, obviously the Corp doest care. This is for the Sonic in Evans Colorado. The first review I complain about them was taking to long to get my order when there was only like 3 cars. This second one really took it to another level, I was the only car. I place my order everything was good intill I got to pay, I was gonna pay with my cellphone and the lady just look at me and didn't say anything so I said I'm gonna pay with my phone, and she said we don't have that payment option I reply can we just try and she left. I saw her talk to someone guessing that was a manager. And he came over to talk to me, he said we don't take that type on payment I reply can we just try please. He said no, and I reply can we please try. He said no And reply can we just try please, He said are system is really old so it won't work. I said a few business have said the same thing and it has worked. He said it won't work. I said but why wouldn't you just try. He said no! So he left and another lady came over amd said sorry we don't take that type of payment. So I said can we just pretend that my cell is a debit card and pretend to swiped please. So she say ok but is not gone work. What a surprise it did worked! Did lady that took came over will an attitude don't know why. I said to her see it worked. She said why do you always have to give me attitude this is not the first time and I was like what are you talking about I have never have said anything event after been ther a few time and waiting 30 minutes for my food of course she want here what was gonna say so just shut the window.
