We were in town for an event and afterwards, we scanned the list of pizza places in Green Bay. We decided to drive across town to Gallagher's West. We based our decision on them having more reviews than the other Gallagher's...so we thought "They're either the oldest or the best! Let's try them out!"
We ordered breaded mushrooms, something I've had since I was a child...a nostalgic memory. They're juicy inside and they come with the good restaurant ranch. We had one kids menu order and she gobbled that up. She's pretty picky so the chicken's good here! đ
Then for the real deal ...We ordered the biggest thin crust pizza they have with a few basic toppings to bring some home to our other kiddos. All the food came out in a timely order. The pizza has the type of cheese that will...almost solidify...as it sits. Like it gets less of the string pulling cheese effect and more of the pulls off all of the cheese when you grab a slice. So you have to slice down before you pull a piece. But the flavor is good! And that's really where it's at! It's the perfect morning/cold pizza too.
After we got our food, we were checked on one time and he made a comment about how we were going to need a box. We didn't get any drink refills, we were done and waiting to leave for at least 20 minutes. More than 10 were spent staring at him, trying to get his attention. There were other employees sitting at the bar talking and he kept going to talk to them, every now and then we'd think he was coming over but he was tending to one of the two other tables who had the same looks we did. I ended up having to go find him to get a box from him and request our check and he looked surprised like he hadn't seen me before. He definitely forgot about us.
When we left, there was a woman waiting for pizza to go and she seemed to be going through the same thing. We love trying every place and hope to take photos and leave amazing reviews. This left us wishing we tried the other Gallagher's. But the next morning the pizza...
Read moreWe had my son and daughter-in-lawâs rehearsal dinner at the west side location. When making reservations, Shawn was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately he was not working the evening we were there. This event had been planned several weeks in advance yet we didnât even have a server/waitress. The bartender had set the pans of salad and utensils out on a counter prior to us arriving. No one informed us of anything. When people went to the bar to order pitchers of beer, they were told that wasnât allowed!! There were two employees standing behind the bar arguing amongst themselves. The bartender, Linda was discussing her engagement ring with other customers. Chad was wandering around with his child wrapped around his leg. It was more like social hour for employees. They were short on change and giving out handfuls of quarters for change. Then after waiting for the food, it wasnât even hot. The pasta had so little sauce that we had to scrape the sauce off the top of the spaghetti noodles to get enough for a couple plates. I tried to talk to whoever was in charge, which was Chad (I was told later he was the owner) he was not at all concerned about my issues. After all of this they had the nerve to add a $79 gratuity charge to my bill. I contacted Shawn regarding my concerns. He seemed to care until I mentioned dealing with Chad. Since then itâs been ghost town. I would never recommend this place for anything. Our bill was almost $600 and no one seemed to care that we were very...
Read morecaught the tail end of the lunch buffet. it was semi busy at the time. a lot of dirty tables, people beginning to clear out. they sat us at a four top which wasnât too big of a deal as we had a toddler in a high chair. the issue with the table space arouse when the server didnât bother to clear any of the plates off of our table. in fact, after dropping our drinks she didnât bother to check with us not one time. not even to give us the bill & at this point in time the restaurant pretty much cleared out so it wasnât a matter of âshe was busyâ. as someone that served for ten years of her life, i am very forgiving of poor service when i can see a server/restaurant is slammed. any good server pre busses, full hands in, full hands out. but as a buffet server, itâs literally prebussing and bringing drinks out. i canât find any excuses for the poor service i received other than she saw a young mother with multiple kids and thought i wouldnât tip. i still tipped her even though she ignored our table entirely. didnât acknowledge me or the lack of bill we received when i got up to pay at the bar (that lady was very nice btw). the only time she said anything to me was when we were stacking our plates and the tip was already on the table. then it was âhave a nice dayâ.
buffet usually has more pizza options. this particular day, 2/3 of the pizzas were combos. baked pasta was also out, but again, understandable they didnât want to refill as we caught...
