Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Green Park

Upon arriving at 5pm I noticed items at the buffet weren’t changed and missing quite a bit. I figured it was prime time for dinner, so I gave the staff time to change items, replace missing stuff, etc. I was wrong. None of that happened. I was there for an hour and a half, of the rolls were sparse and when they became empty they never got refilled. That was the case with a lot of the items at the buffet. A lot of things were left sitting and cold. The dessert area had cookies, chocolate drizzled fruit and one cake, everything else was empty and not replaced. The ice cream machine was down, which was a huge let down, because when I came to Golden Corral myself, my son and wife look forward to it, because, out of all the buffets and food places the ice cream alone seems better quality than ALOT of other places. So after leaving, we had to proceed to go somewhere else for dessert. Not only was that not ideal, but also disappointing because we then had to spend money elsewhere after assuming we would be able to get everything we wanted at a buffet as you should normally expect. The cleanliness of the buffet tables were also pretty dirty especially the salad bar, Toppings were everywhere, Dressing was spilled. A lot of adults were letting their kids go up and get stuff from the buffet. which was causing a mess. What also caught my eye a gentleman came out of the bathroom who I thought was maybe a customer but ended up shocking me because he wasn’t. The reason why this caught my attention is because he was wearing a shredded/cut-up flannel jacket, ripped-up pants, long unmanaged hair, a beard and a beanie. I’m not trying to be rude, but he looked somewhat homeless. He then proceeded to walk back behind the buffet and that’s when I realized he was an employee. Now I know this isn’t a 5 star restaurant, but I would at least expect employees to look groomed and in work attire. He definitely did not look like an employee, which led me to think would it have been more of a concern if he was handling food, especially with no hair or beard net and a dirty torn-up jacket on? That made me VERY grossed out and I immediately stopped eating and we left after that. The last time I visited Golden Corral was in Macon,GA on a road trip and it was my wife’s first time. That was a year ago, let me tell you. That location was LEAGUES above this one, It also made my wife want to go again because she loved how good everything was. Once we came here, we were extremely disappointed and let down, especially after this location was closed due to “remodeling”. Safe to say we won’t be giving Golden Corral another chance after that and I would hope someone will look into these comments and talk with the gentleman about the dress code and his appearance, along with the staff about product availability and...

The upside: service was very friendly and prompt. There are tons of selections to choose from. The downside: the food bar wasn't stocked with fresh food during our visit. Much of the selections with meat was dried. The chicken was so dry that it reminded me of jerky. The chicken livers were hard and old and tasted so bitter that they left a taste in my mouth that I couldn't get rid of! NOT good. The people working the food bar didn't seem to care when several people pointed out that different dishes needed to be replaced. While we were tgere, a light cover on the ceiling fell off the ceiling and crashed to the ground in pieces by a table occupied with people! It could have really hurt a child or a grown person walking under it! Thank goodness nobody was hurt but it made me wonder if this building is maintained? The poor servers had to stand guard and make sure nobody got hurt on the shards that were scattered. It seemed like it took an unreasonable amount of time that it was cleaned up. The cleanliness was horrible. The dark woodwork beside our table was smeared with good and dirty fingerprints. The restroom was the same way... dirt splattered on walls with what looks to be because the restroom was hosed out with a high powered water hose? There wasn't soap in the dispenser so how can employees wash their hands? One of the dispensers in the ladies rest room was hanging crookedly, about to fall from the wall. The worst of the cleanliness issue happened when we left the restaurant... I almost stepped in a pile of semi dried puke. It was RIGHT outside the door so I have a hard time believing the staff didn't know. Although because I felt I'll after only filling my plate ONE time, I didn't feel like going back in to alert the staff about the puke either! So it's possible others just wanted to get outbid there... like we did. We likely won't be back. The selections and good prices aren't worth the illness that potentially dangerous food can cause. There really isn't an excuse for how dirty...

I used to LOVE this place. But, it has gone down in quality. Today is November 12, 2023. I had to drop the rating and take one star off going from 4 stars to 3 stars. It's gone WAYYY down. This location still has plenty of food. But, sometimes the food be cold, and sometimes the area where we get our food is not always clean.

I often get dirty dishes when I pick up a plate off of the rack nearly EVERY time I come here. This place needs to be careful with this kind of stuff. Recommendation: They need to find a way to have those dishes facing upwards instead of downwards like the Chinese buffets do; so that we could AVOID those dirty plates; before more customers get grossed out and turned off by them and word of mouth sure spreads quickly.

They have new staff and the new staff is not great. There's a collective aura in this place that staff just doesn't care and it shows. Waitresses (not all, but many) are neglectful. They may give you your drinks, but they don't come back for a SUPER long time and don't refill your drinks and dishes be left piling up on your table or nearby tables where you'd see HUGE piles of mess, dirty plates and trash while you're eating. It's trifling!!! By the way, the waitress with the red hair needs to retire. She's rude, horrible and unattentive. And this is the opinion of SEVERAL co-workers and people whom I know who goes to this Golden Corral sometimes.

Now, to be fair, this place tend to be understaffed; staff tends to be overworked, and the plandemic messed up a lot of things. But, it's still not good to have cold food, dirty dishes and rude and unattentive staff in a restaurant. Dirty dishes is a sanitation issue. Sanitation issues could shut down an entire restaurants if they even care.

Thus, the above is my verdict after coming to this restaurant SEVERAL times over the last few months. This place is kind of dying and such aura is present in this place! And I wonder if it's even going to be around in the...
