I went to LazyBoy because I wanted good quality furniture. I’d just had a major quality issue with another local furniture store where I bought a A* sectional. When I entered LazyBoy, I was told there’s be a wait by a saleswoman. No problem. I walked around measuring couch’s to find what would best fit the piece I was replacing. I was met by another salesman, he asked/required room pictures and dimensions. I informed/showed him I had couch dimensions and that’s what I need. He refused to hear it. I was then pestered about my budget and reminded over and over that LazyBoy was expensive. I was 100% aware of their prices and what I can afford yet they seemed to not believe me. Finally, I was able to start putting pieces together. They insisted to use some program they were ill trained on and they kept asking for pictures/dimensions of my living room. My request of looking at just pieces for my sectional to make the size I needed for pricing purposes were completely denied and ignored. I was in the store over 2 hours without any information. I walked out frustrated and in tears. I went again a few days later, asked for the manager, and couldn’t have had a BETTER experience. I was so relieved and please, I ordered the perfect couch and gladly waited the 12 weeks for it to come in. I got a text to schedule delivery, only available on Thursday’s to my area. I called to see if an expectation could be made because I didn’t want to take off work or if we could pick it up. I was told no but a email could be sent for the request. I’d get a call back but never did. The week of delivery, my boyfriend was able to take off and receive the couch. The delivery men were very friendly and on time. Once delivered and set up, the delivery men and my boyfriend realized the couch was two different colors and materials! They took the pieces that weren’t what I ordered and left. Their truck left a large oil spot on our concrete. I was waiting for a phone call about this. Never got one. So I called and the store know nothing about it. The women said everything was ordered correctly. She said she’d call me back the next day with more info. No call. No info. I went to the store Saturday and asked for answers. I was told they were waiting for the truck to get to Chicago and the warehouse searched, they call by Tuesday with answers. I asked if my couch could be in someone else’s home and was told no, “no one else complained”. I asked what if it was truly made wrong, “you could wait for the piece to be right but that may take 19 weeks”. I was assured my delivery fee would be refund, I didn’t pay one to begin with, and that possibly more money could be discounted but unsure what. Well, it’s been 10 days since that conversation in person on Saturday, October 3rd. There’s been NO FOLLOW UP call or information. I know things happen but this is just the perfect storm from such a long standing company with a good product. I was impressed by the customer service revolving the first issue but now I’m just not happy. I will not be ordering from LazyBoy again I will NOT RECOMMEND them if you have to order large pieces or custom things. Just buy what you can take home. I hate this. I’m not a complainer nor impatient. I’ve worked customer service myself at a point in life but the price you pay knowing you’ll get good service and product isn’t amounting to this experience. I feel I’ve been required to give to much “benefit of the doubt”. It’s not my job to repeatedly call and search for answers. So, here I sit on half a couch wondering what will come of this. I’m sure I’ll get my credit statement requiring payment any day. St....
Read moreI will start by stated that my husband and I are big fans of Lazy Boy furniture, to us the quality and fact that you can customize the fabric and style are a huge plus. When you take those two things into consideration and add that the professional staff will help you design your furniture to fit your space the price is well worth it and honestly if you also consider it will last for years and years to come, it is an investment that pays off big time. Your furniture will be comfortable, sturdy and you will not be purchasing new furniture after 5-7 years because the cushions are breaking down etc. We purchased our previous sofa and loveseat from the South County Lazy Boy location that was almost 18 years ago and although our furniture still looks great and meets our needs we purchased a new home and will be using that furniture in our finished basement. I went into the SoCO LB to check out a sofa I had been looking at online, Katie greeted me and the process began, Katie took my information we talk about what I like and the room I was trying to furnish, after getting the room measurements I went back in Amela greeted me with a smile and was readily available to help me choose fabric and began arranging the room so I could see how my selections would look in our living room. Later that week Katie emailed me information about an up coming sale with my estimated price that included the sale prices. I went in this past weekend to finalize and make the purchase and again I was greeted with a smile from Jasmine who was already aware of existing order. Jasmine was professional, friendly and helped me finalize my fabric, rugs and pillows. Each time I visited the store I was greeted in a professional and friendly, I felt welcomed without feeling pressured and most of all Katie, Amela and Jasmine did a fantastic job of making me feeling comfortable and that they were most committed to making sure I was happy with all aspects of my purchase. If you are looking for new furniture I would highly recommend the SoCo Lazy Boy store (and of you are not close to that one I just recommend Lazy Boy in general). Thank you Katie, Amela and Jasmine for making my experience SO wonderful! I cannot wait to get my furniture and rugs I know I am going to love my new...
Read moreI really like the furniture, and the prices on the tags seem appropriate, but the salesperson I had was woefully untrained. She was polite, and nice, but had no idea what she was doing. Whether her lack of training or the way things work, I really felt like I was part of a bait-and-switch action. There was a tag on the chair I wanted ($1500) and she told me it would be "a little extra" to switch the fabric. She wrote me a ticket that was about $400 more than the one on the floor. I told her I would be back the next day to purchase after I measured to be sure it would fit. The next day I came back and was told that yesterday's sale was over and the price would be higher. I pointed out that the sales slip I received said the price was good for six days- and I was told that did not apply. I started to leave and was told that they would honor the sale price. Then I was told that the mattress shown on the floor sample (a sleeper chair) cost $400 extra, and she added a "paws" insurance for (about) $350 because I have dogs (I did not request this.) Now this ONE chair is getting close to $3000 when the tag said $1500. I said to cancel ALL the custom things and go back to the std chair with std upholstery. She said she would add on fabric protection (like it was going to be free). When I found out it was not free, I had her remove it. I paid for the chair, picked a delivery date and left. Twenty minutes later I got a phone call that I had not signed all my paperwork and had to return. While I was there I got a text from the store saying I needed to select a delivery date (wait! we already picked a delivery date!). Like I said, the salesperson was very nice and clearly very new. Someone should have been helping her. She could not find fabric samples, didn't know how to use the computer, and I still don't know if I get one pillow or two... I guess I'll be surprised! I like the furniture, but if this visit was an example of how the sales floor works, I may think twice about...
