Arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and were seated promptly. The server was friendly. Ordered a few of their featured wines and an appetizer. Everything was fine up to that point.
It seemed like it was taking a very long time for the main dishes to arrive, and then we were told there had been some mistake in the kitchen and something had to be reheated and we would get our food soon. About 15 minutes later, our meals arrived. We had all ordered meat dishes cooked medium and what we got was overdone meat that was kind of dry. The potatoes looked like a lump of starch had simply been dropped on my plate. I don’t know what happened in the kitchen but they probably should have just made fresh plates for us because what we got was not what we had ordered.
To the server’s credit, she did come around a couple of times to ask if we wanted anything (although what could we want, other than our food?). At the end, she just dropped the check on the table and didn’t ask if we were interested in dessert (to be fair, maybe the look on my face said it all). So, we paid and went to get ice cream.
The manager did intercept us on the way out and offered us a complimentary meal in the future, which was nice. However, it was patently clear that what they served us was not what we had ordered and they should have taken the entrees off the bill if they really wanted to make it up to us.
Be aware that the place is very loud. If loudness is not your thing, you’re better off not going there. All in all, I felt like I had dinner at a Mediterranean-themed, super-expensive version of a mid-tier casual restaurant. Why go to this place when I can just go to the actual mid-tier casual restaurant for less money?
It just seems like this restaurant’s business model is smoke and mirrors. They mostly try to dazzle you by leading with a decent (but not outstanding) wine selection followed by so-so food at inflated prices.
I’m sure this place will do fine because all the west siders that are tired of coneys and double-deckers will keep flocking there (at least for a time), but it’s a no-repeat for me. The value for the money is...
Read moreWe visited Cooper’s Hawk in Green Township on their opening weekend, fully aware of the typical first-week chaos, especially on a Friday night. While there were a few longer-than-expected wait times, everything that came out of the kitchen was absolutely spot on and delicious.
The staff deserves special mention for their honesty, professionalism, and kindness. They were upfront about the delays, attentive throughout our meal, and genuinely friendly in every interaction. It was clear they were working hard to make each guest feel welcome despite the expected rush.
Beyond the food and service, it is simply a joy to finally have a truly enjoyable sit-down restaurant so close to home. With so many uninspired fast-food choices nearby, Cooper’s Hawk feels like a welcome respite; a place to relax, unwind, and actually savor the experience of dining out.
Overall, our evening was wonderful, and I look forward to adding Cooper’s Hawk to our list of regular spots. With their great food, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional staff, we have no doubt this location will quickly become a...
Read moreWow, is all I can say. From the food quality to the service, this restaurant is a outstanding. Me and my husband have been wine club members at the Kenwood location for years but this new restaurant is even closer to us and much better service imo. An extra shoutout to our fantastic waitress AnnaMarie! From the moment we sat down she made us feel first class. Her pairings were spot on and I think I would like to try a few more of her suggestions next time we come in. The restaurant is elegant but not stuffy. Large open air dining with nice contemporary decor. The food of course is always phenomenal, I wont ruin that suprise for you. It speaks for itself and our dinner was exceptional. We will be coming here monthly from now on and will always request AnnaMarie which is something to look forward to. Thank you Coopers Hawk and team for making our...
