I usually don't leave reviews but I could not let this one slide. The only reason I gave 1 star was because 0 was not an option. When I walked in, the first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was I spoke, said hello but was not greeted in return. The 2 ladies that were at the front were not friendly or inviting. I started not to even order but I was very hungry and the place I really wanted to go to was closed so I said, why not? I ordered the mixed veggies and waited for my food to be ready. The wait wasn't long which was the ONLY positive thing. I thanked the lady and left with my order. I opened my food in the car and noticed in the mixed veggies was a huge chunk of beef with shreds of beef throughout. I don't eat meat hence the mixed veggies. So I went back inside and asked if beef typically came with the mixed veggies. She replied, rudely, yeah. I then told her that I don't eat meat and asked if I could get it without. She then proceeded to give me a spoon and said TAKE IT! I was shocked more than anything considering I had been nothing but polite. The customer service is autrocious and I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to spend their hard earned cash unless you like to be treated...
Read moreYes!!!! A clean, organized, and friendly Haitian restaurant. I wanted to try out a new Haitian restaurant near me and I discovered A&E Carribean Cafe online. The website was very organized and user friendly. I was able to make my decision very quick and painless. The food preparation was relatively quick. I ordered the legume (mix beef and vegetable stew) with diri kole (rice and beans)and it took 25-30 min to make. When I arrived to the restaurant I was greeted with a smile from the front desk lady. The packaging was very neat and impressive. I hate ordering to go from places and by the time I get home, half of my food is leaking from the bag because the staff was too lazy to properly seal food. When I finally got home to try the food, I was in aw. The food was amazing. My only take away was that they forgot to put pikliz (spicy Haitian coleslaw) in with my food. However, I'm Haitian so I always have pikliz in my refrigerator ready to go. If you are looking for some good haitian food, whether you are like me and want to try a new Haitian restaurant or curious to try Haitian cuisine, A&E is the place to go. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Palm Beach...
Read moreI order online, fried fish and it charged me 9 dollars which I though was great . When I went to pick up my food I was told it was 20 dollars an that it was my mistake for not reading the fine print on the website to call before ordering the fish. The owner himself came to me and enforced the rule. I was forced to wait another 20 mins for my food. I waited because I already went thru all the trouble. Idk... I feel that the mistake shouldn't have been put on me. I'm not saying I'm entitled to anything, it's about a customer's experience. I had a very bad experience with how the problem was dealt with. It's just food and its just this one time. Im a fast learner, I will know next time to call before ordering the fish... Giving a customer a good experience will pay off greater then saving the restaurant a good big piece of fish. I still waited for the food for 20 more mins because I love Haitian food and I wasn't trying to make a big deal but I DEFINITELY WILL NOT be going back here again. There are many Haitian spots around if you are reading this I recommend just looking for the nearest one somewhere else. I just did not like how the situation...
