Okay let me start off by saying i went to this buffet a few times before and before tonight I really loved the food here and thought the customer service here was superb.Tonight is the last time I and my party of 3 will step foot in his establishment ever again. Now mind you the website for New China buffet stated that closing time on Sunday April 5 2015 stated they would be closing at 10:00 pm est. Me and my party of 3 walked inside the doors at around 8:55pm we came in the hostess greeted us and walked us over to our table. we got up proceeded to grab some plates of food and immediately as we sat done i noticed my crab legs were ice cold i called over my waitress and told her my food was cold and she heated up me and my parties plates. I then asked her what time they closed because I noticed the Bus boy's loading up some of the food to take in the back. she changed the subject to the food on my plate. and i didnt ask her again a at around 9:00pm the waitress came over to our table and informed us that they would be closing at 9:30pm and she said it in a rushed town of voice. I stated why didn't you guys tell us that ten minutes ago when we first came inside like any paying customers would of liked to know. she said eat, eat like telling me to go sit back down and eat indirectly. at 9:10pm the hostess came to our table again and told us you have to 9:30 pm until closing she had just told us not even 10 minutes ago. I was getting highly upset by this tine and told her i know and they didnt have to tell us this every minute. the waitress then came back 3 times in the next 8 minutes to see if i was done with my food. I told her to I KNOW WHAT TIME YOU GUYS ARE CLOSNG AND PLEASE STOP HARASSING ME. All the staff was staring at us and waitng for us to leave. we got up at 9:26 pm and i told the hostess how we were treated tonight was horrible and I would NEVER be returning again. The hosted responded good and said byeeeee to us in a condescending manner. I have never in my 33 years of living as paying customer been treated in such a way at an establishment and was f\flabbergasted at the way me and my party was handled. Mind you we spent $50.00 for a party of 3 and didnt even get to eat that much the food was ice cold nor did we enjoy our food at all. I give this restaurant 5 thumbs down. and do not recommend anyone...
Read moreI decided to have a late lunch at my Second favorite Chinese buffet at 3:25 today . Big mistake . All the leftover lunch food was still out and was only warm to cool in temperature . Ever eat a gold egg roll or spring roll - how about a cold pot sticker ! There were only 2 piping hot items - egg foo young and soups . The main hostess type guy informed me upon arrival that I was l as late for lunch is that ok ? What I think and later found out was late to get charged lunch price of $8.95 instead I got charged $12.95 . It took about 35 to 40 minutes for them to bring out the “dinner priced “ items. Which ended up being only oysters , a creamy shrimp for rice , a slab of overcooked roast for slicing , crayfish and spareribs ,and cooked clams in a sauce . The only reason I know that is signs placed in front of each of these items stating “ these items are for dinner buffet people only “. I ate iced shrimp, iced mussels and a few iced oysters until I saw them bring out a hot tray of something . This is the first time in a year I had an unpleasant experience . The staff is always nice and the place is relatively clean looking . The food is usually hot fresh and good tasting with a good variety including some American style foods . My only suggestion in not to go after like 2;30 or before 4:15. This is just to make sure you get fresh hot food at any price . This one unfortunate bad experience will not keep from...
Read moreActually closer to 2.5 stars. It makes me sad, looking for a good Chinese buffet. Apparently, there aren't any in central Palm Beach County (or South Florida?) I've been to any and all that I can find, and this one is probably the, eh, 'best', that I've been to in awhile.
If that doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, a gold star for you. This is the first (local) Chinese buffet that I've been to in years that I didn't feel insulted by the time I left. The food is ok, the selection is ok (dessert selection less-than-ok), the service was probably somewhat better than ok. That averages out to, about ok. Sigh.
Some food was hot, some was not. Some food seemed fresh, some seemed old and stale (all too common). I was underwhelmed by the dessert choices here, but that didn't crush me too much, as I'm usually too full from the buffet line to have room for dessert afterwards, anyway.
I'll probably eat here on occasion in the future, because if I'm in the mood for Chinese buffet, at least this place is 'ok'. But another reviewer nailed it: Golden Corral (Boynton Beach) is, by FAR, the best buffet that you can spend your money on, and considering that all of the buffets seem to be in the $13-15 range, Golden Corral wins hands down--and they even have some Chinese...
