I have been to El Beso many times. Our server took awhile to come to our table and greet us. By the time she came, we had decided on what we wanted to order to drink and eat. It was the first time my friend had been to El Beso. We decided to order a half pitcher of blended strawberry margaritas. The server returned with margaritas on the rocks. I told her about the error right away. She told us to keep the pitcher and said she’d be back with blended margaritas. Based on the online menu, I went in knowing what I wanted to order. Unfortunately, it had been taken off the menu, and they couldn’t accommodate my request to make it. Instead, I decided to order the steak fajitas as they were somewhat close to what I’d wanted to order. The food came quickly. The server hadn’t returned with the correct margaritas, so I had to ask her about it. She returned a few minutes later with one blended margarita, despite there being 2 of us. The food was very disappointing. The steak was very bland. The dish overall lacked flavor. The rice and beans were also not as seasoned as I’ve had them many times in the past. My friend ordered tostadas. Normally, and as described, they should have had beans on the bottom, however there was none. Instead, the server just brought out a small plate of beans instead of bringing out a fresh order made correctly. My friend also said her meat was bland and lacked flavor. She said the same about the rice. When we were finished, my friend declined a box. As I hadn’t eaten much of my food, I decided to take it home. We then waited and waited for the server to bring the check. We finally had to ask for it. I had wanted to take my friend, who was visiting from out of town to another Mexican restaurant, but because of Sunmerfest traffic, I thought El Beso was a good alternative. I was VERY WRONG!! We paid out check and left. I ultimately decided to throw out the take out boxes. I tried the food again at home, and it just wasn’t worth it. I won’t be back after this experience. I was also going to leave a review on their Facebook page, and I find it interesting that they don’t give you the option. Very, very disappointing, especially when bringing someone from out of town thinking we’d enjoy a nice...
Read moreI havent been to El Beso in about a year, and in that time this place went to garbage. Im very sorry, but please notice a trend in the people that have been giving this place 5 stars and good reviews. If you are a Hispanic American going back here, then don't expect to get served like "everyone else" that is giving this place good reviews. From the second me, my wife and daughter sat down this waitress had the snottiest rude demeanor swimming with bad vibes. So if Gabriela T. Is your waitress then be aware. Clearly this lady forgot where she came from, and forgot who her people are, because she treated us like we didnt belong there. First brang us 3 waters and brang 1 straw. Then when I asked for another straw, she didnt even respond and walked away. This lady didnt bring a straw untill she came back with our food, and slams 3 more straws on the table like if I made that much of an inconvenience. Not only did we have to deal with this Toxic, rude, Good Friday vibe killing waitress, the food was terrible. We ordered Asada fries and wannabe "street nachos" served on a metal tray that smelled like dirty rags. It really looked like the tray wasnt washed, and just got the paper replaced on top. This place used to have much better nachos served on a nice plate, and had way better fries than what they serve now. Even the chips were bad. Tasted stale and bland. And we literally got served 1 glass of water without being asked if we needed more or anything else. Service was nowhere near attentitive, did not have a friendly vibe and food is not reasonably priced at all. Your paying for the area. This was a big waste of money and time. Everybody should be treated the same no matter how you look and where you go. Why would somebody sit down in a restaurant that they cannot afford. Just like I said, we clearly got serviced like we didn't belong. Gabriela T needs to be retrained on how to treat all customers the same. Not just the ones who look like they are gonna leave a big tip, which half the time are the ones who dont...
Read moreThis was my first time ever coming to El Beso. I had heard wonderful things about it, but I will never go back there again. I have worked in the restaurant industry, have been a manager in retail, and work with people every day, so I have only asked to talk to a manager up to this point for praising their employees. Their food was good, and their bar staff was good, but their management was completely incompetent in handling a group of people at the bar who were cussing and so loud that my friend and I literally lost our train of thought in conversation. We complained to the bartenders, another couple behind us complained, and several other couples were visibly annoyed by the group. One of the bartenders tried to ask them to keep it down and he commented to us that he was quite annoyed by the group as well. I commented that it was a good thing that I was not a mystery shopper, because they wouldn't have gotten a positive review. Two of the bartenders told me to complain to the manager because she wouldn't listen to them. I did, and she told me that there wasn't anything more that she could do besides talk to them (which she did, once) and cut them off (which she did after they ordered another pitcher of margaritas). Even after talking to them they continued to cuss and started shouting that they wanted to know who was complaining about them. Needless to say, they did not improve at all, and the manager did nothing to further try to prevent this scene. I told her that she could have asked them to leave, and that she was just giving excuses. Although the food was good and bartenders were good, I will not return someplace that I know has incompetent people working...
