Tucked away behind the big street, but in a busy intersection, this place is really nice. I love the open, bright, airy atmosphere. It's big and has lots of tables to accommodate a large crowd, which is nice, since it does look like it gets quite full. Being on keto, I just stuck with the coffee and skipped the pastries, though I've been hearing good things about them as well. All the coffee comes sweetened unless you ask for no sugar. Marib their medium roast with cardamom. I did enjoy the ethnic experience, though I must say, I've never had coffee with cardamom before so it was a bit powerful, though pleasantly so. Try this with spice on the side! Or the Sana’a, which will have cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon.
Sheeba Cascara coffee is more like tea than coffee. It’s brewed with the coffee husks rather than the beans. It’s actually a very nice tea, but if you need more coffee, this is not it. I asked for the spices (ginger and cinnamon) on the side, to try the tea/coffee on its own. After the first few sips of pure tea, I added the spices, and it was definitely an added experience. I loved it. I still want to try a coffee coffee, with spices on the side.
Mufawaar This is regular coffee with cream and sugar and spices (cardamom). And cream. Friend liked it.
Turkish Coffee Comes in a beautiful vessel. See pix. I didn’t like Turkish coffee in Turkey, because it was quite cloudy. This one didn’t quite look like that. But my friends had it and I didn’t really get to try it. Another one to try next time. It was very pretty.
Pistachio Latte A very basic latte with pistachio flavors. The pistachio syrup (very green) was drizzled onto the cup’s bottom, and friend really did give it a big stir with the straw, but you could see the green still sticking to the bottom. I tried a sip and it was very nice, but I didn’t get all of that sweetness.
Iced Aden Basically a London For, with cardamom. Friend totally loved it. He worked at Starbucks. And claims to be a coffee/tea snob. I love being able to try new things and finding something I like. The people working here were very nice and excited to share their knowledge with me. I think the owner came out later and also shared some of his knowledge. Overall a...
Read moreLocated in an unassuming plaza smack dab in the middle of Greenfield, Qamaria Coffee is a contemporary Arabic cafe with yummy desserts and drinks that lend inspiration from cultural influences. From the unique menu offerings, Aztec-printed seat cushions and ornamental decor, to the Arabic music playing in the background, you don't feel as if you've stepped foot into a Milwaukee cafe when you enter.
WHAT WE GOT: Pistachio Latte: The layers in this drink made it almost too pretty to drink! Was shocked by the robust, well-rounded richness of the coffee beans used in this latte. Qamaria Coffee does sell their own beans, and for good reason. Despite being a sweet drink, it packed a caffeinated punch that left me buzzing for hours. The subtle hints of pistachio were added to the drink via a silky smooth, whipped pistachio cream instead of via a syrup, which I appreciated.
Pistachio Tres Leches Cake: Simply divine. 100/10. The pistachio in this cake was amazingly not artificial-tasting. This was overall a very delicate, pretty cake that wasn't too sweet, fragrant, moist, and so addicting to eat. A well-crafted, unique spin on the traditional tres leches cake.
VIBE: Bright with rows of floor-to-ceiling windows and natural lighting, light wood elements, a plentitude of tables and chairs makes for an open and inviting space Bustling and busy, especially on a weekend. Most patrons were there to socialize rather than be productive. We came here to get work done, but the background noise made it difficult to focus. Perhaps the atmosphere is different on a weekday?
Overall, this is a gem of a cafe that makes me hopeful for Milwaukee's ethnic food and cafe scene! 100% will be back to try...
Read moreI had a lovely experience!
The atmosphere is open and bright with super comfy chairs and benches. The benches had armrests that looked like they could move which I thought was a lovely touch! I'm a heavy girl and the chairs were comfortable the 2.5 hours I was there.
I am sensitive to caffeine so I asked the staff what some options would be for low caffeine drinks. She not only had knowledge of specialty drinks and how they would taste but also gave me options to make classic drinks less caffeinated. I went with the Sheeba (I hope I spelt that right, I'll try and spell check) and it was a wonderful coffee. It was sweet and a bit floral, a bit fruity, and oh so yummy! The honey was perfect for it just like she said it would be! Just what the doctor ordered! And it was perfect amount of caffeine! Didn't make me jittery or too hyped but I was still energized and clear headed in a pleasant way, which is very hard for me to experience as even a can of coke will make me too ampt and jittery.
Overall I really hope to make the trip to return soon! It was a warm cozy atmosphere and experience on a dreary day and just what I needed! Staff was super amazing and the prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality which was amazing! I'm definitely trying their sweets next time! My friend let me try her honey bread thingy and I definitely think the items on the case are more delicious then they look. Which is saying something!
Will definitely be recommending as a...
