3/5/23 I visited around 2:20p and was refused service by a borderline rude female brunette employee. Please run the cameras back if you take customer feedback seriously. She really needs a coaching surrounding customer service, it’s all about HOW you say it. Otherwise she needs to find another job she actually wants to work for and likes the customers contributing to the establishment. I have always had a pleasant experience here up until today (with an exception of one other incident). I normally come earlier, but today was a last minute thought. I have witnessed people come in 30 minutes or less before closing and still be serviced. I even did a Yelp check in to not delay the process once I arrived. The employee was dismissive and made excuses on why we couldn’t be seated even though we witnessed multiple parties leaving. As a frequent returning customer it was more than enough time to be taken care of. I have seen the place still have current guests taking their sweet time around 3, which is always my hard out. I like to be respectful surrounding the closing times because I’m aware the employees have lives too outside of work. Completely wasted my time but thankfully another establishment was happy to take our money and service us no problem. I’m big on the customer experience and how people who fund business get treated. It’s a good chance I won’t return. In the future it may be a good idea to have an enforced posted cut off time vs being at this mercy of a lackluster employee’s decision making.
Side note waitress Ashley is the best at this location. I have had 2 odd servers before her that made me uneasy so her efforts the last time prior to this experience was appreciated. We made sure the tip reflected that! The food is great too and they accommodate substitutions which I’m thankful for. Up until today it has been my top pick for my weekly...
Read moreI normally don’t go out of my way to say things online, but I’m left speechless at this last experience. This will be long. I placed an online order directly through them on their website at 945am for a pick up at 1130am. I arrived at the restaurant on time to pick up my order and was told “it’s not ready yet”. Ok no problem, how much longer? “Oh awhile, there are 14 tickets right now.” Ok?????? So I’m sitting there.. 15 mins pass.. other people are checking in.. getting sat.. doordash delivery drivers served and picked up orders.. other pick up orders being given.. so then I ask again for an update.. still “working on it”. Now it’s approaching 12pm. I ask to speak to a manager, and said ‘manager’ comes out and tells me “it’s because you ordered on doordash and it was for 1140am not 1130am” okay first of all completely wrong in all aspects. I have the receipt on my phone that shows pick up for 1130 and it was directly through them NOT doordash. I explain that and she goes and disappears and another manager comes out after to talk to me instead. He says he can’t do anything besides give me a $15 voucher for another visit because there’s “nothing he can do about an online order”. After this experience why would I come back? So now I’ve been here waiting for over 30 mins and I hear them in the kitchen asking for the order to be made. So you mean to tell me this entire time they hadn’t even started my order?!?!? My order was given to me 40 minutes late. Then when going through the bag to finally eat, there are ITEMS MISSING!!! Are you joking?! You guys couldn’t have even got that right? I am beyond disappointed. I have had long waits here before but...
Read moreCinnamon Roll Pancakes: Honey Berry Pancakes and Café (HBPC) is a contemporary breakfast/lunch restaurant that opened last fall in my area. Whenever I try a new breakfast café I like to use pancakes as my standard (specifically if they offer specialty pancakes or not). Lucky for me there is not only a plethora of pancake varieties, but also French toast choices as well. The cinnamon roll pancakes come topped with cream cheese frosting (both the swirl and that massive gob that looks like butter), cinnamon sugar glaze, cinnamon, and a pinch of powdered sugar. It’s a massive stack of three pancakes that is relatively thick and will provide about two meals for most people. Each pancake was fresh, flavorful, and pleasantly chewy (with just a hint of a welcoming crunch at the tips). I particularly enjoyed the sweet cream cheese frosting and cinnamon sugar glaze. My only complaint is that I wish there would have been more of both of those toppings. The pancakes are so thick that the bottom portion of the stack is a little dry. If HBPC wanted to take these pancakes from good (4 stars) to exceptional (5 stars) then I would recommend adding some glaze and frosting between each pancake to combat that dryness. Still delicious and still Doughboy approved. I’ll be back in the fall to try their pumpkin pancakes and their French toast options are tempting too (but there’s no descriptions on the...
